I am getting slightly annoyed of checking every few minutes to see if I have received any messages. My idea to fix that is desktop notifications.
With desktop notifications people wouldn't have to check the scratch page often because it would just appear when they got a message.
Just add a button to the settings page to prompt desktop notifications.
I am hoping for something with no extensions required.
Thank you for your time.

I know Griffpatch has a program where it indicates if you have a new message in your browser, so you can access it wherever you are on the Internet.
Here it is: Scratch Messaging Extention

Actually I wanted something default no extensions required. I know Griffpatch has a program where it indicates if you have a new message in your browser, so you can access it wherever you are on the Internet.

Why are extensions a bad thing? We have to download Chrome/Firefox to avoid using IE, so why not download an extension to avoid having to check Scratch often?Actually I wanted something default no extensions required. For one most scratch users using google chromebooks (Like me) are supervised users and so don't have access to extentions. Why are extensions a bad thing? If there's a browser on there, you should be able to install an extension. For one most scratch users using google chromebooks (Like me) are supervised users and so don't have access to extentions. Why are extensions a bad thing? If you had a Chromebook you would understand… on Chromebooks depending on how its set up but most of the time extensions are disabled. If there's a browser on there, you should be able to install an extension. For one most scratch users using google chromebooks (Like me) are supervised users and so don't have access to extentions. Why are extensions a bad thing? OK. Please stop using, “I have a Chromebook” as a reason. Not everyone has a Chromebook, and Scratch was meant to be a universal program, not a program just for a specific OS.
Also, it is very simple from Google Chrome to enable extensions. Download, go to settings > Extentions > Enable {Extention name/title}.
Therefore, it is not necessary, but would be useful. Semi-support.

Unfortunately its not that simple. Most people who have a Chromebook are set up as a “supervised user” meaning no Gmail account required but also meaning no extensions allowed. OK. Ask your parent/administrator that controls your computer. Ask them to enable you to use extensions. They should be able to control if you can install and use extensions from Chrome.

Yea… If that's possible (we don't think it is yet) he doesn't know how.
