Forum Suggestion [reopen your forum topics]

OK, I accidentally closed my shop about an hour ago and that got me thinking. I should be able to reopen threads that I created.

So my I idea is, Users should be able to reopen threads they made.

Pros?
Cons?
Let me know.

Just report it. A member of the ST can reopen it for you.

What if it was important, it took about 30 minutes before it got reopened

Having to wait half an hour is one of the consequences of making a mistake like that. I just use tab-enter to submit a reply, that way I don't accidentally click on close topic

Support as long as you can't reopen a thread after the ST closes it.

I've never needed this, but others might. Also, you would have to wait 24 hours after closing the topic to re-open it, and vice versa (unless it was closed by the Scratch Team).

A lot of the time, topics will be closed by the Scratch Team for various reasons that don't justify having that topic ever be reopened, such as if the topic is a duplicate or if it was necroposted on. No Support, though if you wanted to, you could probably report the first post of your topic and ask for it to be reopened if you accidentally close the topic.

Support, I accidentally closed my topic.

here is how it would go!

1. if you close your topic, after 24 hours, you can open It back up.
and 2. if the scratch team closes your topic, you can open it back up, but you will still have to wait 24 hours.

What I understand from the title is: "let the owner of the thread re-open the thread if it's the owner of the thread themselves that closed the thread". Besides, I do agree that you can just report the topic to be re-opened if you accidentally closed it.

How.. does one accidentally close a thread?

Then you can report it to be re-opened by reporting the first post (and explaining why).

I mean that although the “submit” and “close thread” buttons are close to each other, they're not insanely close to each other either. I don't see threads accidentally being closed very often.

This one was closed accidentally, and the user felt really sad and was probably thinking: “Why?!”
However, it is just one case, and one case doesn't matter.*
*I'm telling this to people who want to reply that.

But I support anyway. However, I think that there should be the impossibility to re-open it if it has been closed by the Scratch Team.
