This one runthrough I got a Glaive Beam, and two Flak 1's. I also got level 3 cloaking, level 4 shields, and 2 defense drones. It beat the flagship so easily . That's probably the best run I've ever had . I was using the Zoltan Cruiser type A

I had three burst laser 2 and an anti-bio beam. Kestrel A. I had it rigged up for boarding. Twin mantis into the missile system, kill crew, destroy system. Repeat, going for laser next. Then I went for the beam. Lol it was powerless and i just sat there with one burst laser laughing my face off as I shot the ion cannon, the crew fixed it, i lit it on fire, and just watched him die. I then got bored and blew the heck out of the flagship.

Second wave. Same protocol. Down to 33% health. Took out the flagship again.

Third wave. Same protocol. It missiles my shields, and then power surge… got rekt by that. xD I had no cloak… but hey, i had a volley in the air and i managed to take it with me :3

I got, as my augments, twin repair arms and a weapon pre-igniter… so I went at the Flagship with one shield barrier (yolo), max engines, max weapons, max oxy, and max medbay. I also had cloak that time… no teleport but I had hacking and mind control. Went at it, hacked the beam, missiled the ion with the artemis, and then got the remaining two with the Pegasus launchers. It was rekt at the start, managed to wipe it clean with zero damage. Did the same to the second wave. Third wave, they killed all but one of my crew, and as I blew them to shreds, my pilot died from fire… xD soo close…

One shield barrier? Wow, I'm surprised you even got to the flagship xD. Also, just out of curiosity, why do you use Kestrel A? I usually play Zoltan B or Lanius B (You play Advanced Edition right?).

Oh . I actually prefer Engi A over Kestrel. The Ion MK II is amazing. Engi B is terrible though. Probably the worst ship in the game. The system repair drones don't even begin to make up for the lack of crew.

It makes a good boarder late game…

LOL the Vortex is designed somewhat to work half decently without crew… so you can send all of your crew to board but one and you aren't in terrible shape…

I blew up a thief carrying a nuke… and I got to 1 hp from that… but hey! I got the On a Wing and a Prayer achievement for Kestrel from it…

Third stage, my ship was reduced to one hitpoint by an energy surge… and I would have died if Elnubnub hadn't gotten the engines on in time… I won that one… I worshipped Elnubnubs for a few weeks after that…

Yeah the second choice on the second part means you take 6 Ion Damage to all systems and your reactor is downgraded by 3.
