Good choices. Congratulations ErnieParke (ricarose, you left of the e the same way Lightnin left of nXIII's I), P110, and LiFaytheGoblin.

Can't wait to hear more about the program.
I didn't even notice that; nice catch! Maybe the ST could hire you as their spell-checker.

Anyway, thank you! I'm really happy that I get to be included in this group.

Congrats mentors! Don't be too impatient for 3-4 months :O
I won't be. Besides, I have some nice Scratch projects to work on, and a possible collab with Maltese_Falcon. ;)

Happy,

Congratulations, everyone! I don't know P110 that well, but LiFayTheGoblin and ErnieParke are excellent choices. LiFay is really friendly on the language forums (if anyone hangs out there anymore…), and ErnieParke is awesome on the Wiki. Scratch on, guys!
I am so happy to be able to contribute to this awesome community in such a great way *-* ^-^

And just so you and everyone knows it: P110 is a very, very good choice! He helped so much with the Welcoming Committee, the Transition Team and he's always friendly and helpful :D
I did? I thought you helped me :3
We helped each other xD

Update on volunteer programs

Since we retired the community moderators program, we have been working on developing new programs for Scratchers to help out in the community. We wanted to share a few updates about these new programs.

We've asked LiFaytheGoblin, P110, and ErnieParke to serve as the first Scratch Mentors, starting in early 2014. In addition to preparing for the Scratch Mentor role, we'll also be preparing to launch the Scratch Helper program, which will offer several ways Scratchers can help in the community–such as welcoming new Scratchers, providing feedback on new projects, or helping people debug their projects. This program will start in early 2014 too. We look forward to offering these roles in the next few months, so stay tuned!
Congrats! I'd like to be a mentor someday! But I'm still new, so maybe my mentor can!

Wow. That is good comedy! Now the only thing I need is a virtual popcorn stand.

Thank you for the support! Simply being Mentor makes me grateful, and I can see why you want to be one as well. ;)

Thanks,

Aw… Well look at it this way, we haven't worked out how new mentors will be chosen so it could be elections and you could win! (personally I think it may stay as invitation but, meh you may still get invited)

Update on volunteer programs

Congrats! I think you made great choices (though, like HM, I didn't know P110 that well.) If I could choose anyone to be the first Mentors, that's who I would choose. I can't wait to see how this works out! One question, though- how are you going to manage until the release date without mods or Mentors?

We still will have a few original moderators, and there are also paid moderators. On the plus side, Mentors (don't ask me why) have the power to delete forum posts, so we can do a bit of moderation ourselves.

Anyway, thank you for the kindly comment! Thanks. ;)

Gratitude,

ErnieParke
