Redeem an Alert(s) [8:2:1]
The Suggestion:
We all mess up, no one's perfect. You get an alert for a reason, and if you disagree, you can always use Contact Us, but sometimes, you do deserve that alert. At this time, alerts do not go away. If you receive an alert, it says on your record, no matter how small. I think that there should be a way for you to ‘redeem’ yourself from the alert. In other words, a way to get your alert to be erased. An idea has been suggested that alerts automatically go away after x amount of time, but I don't agree. I think you should have to do something for your alert to be removed. So, my suggestion is for any Scratcher to have the ability to remove any* alerts through a series of actions deemed acceptable by a Moderator.
Note, I'm using ‘you’ as a general term, not literally you xD
Here's How it Would Work:
Example Alert:
"Hello, {your username}. You are receiving this alert due to {insert reason here}. However, don't be too worried! You can always attempt to remove this alert by helping out around the site, such as the Help With Scripts forum, FPCA Help Studio, New Scratchers forum, or any other place you can think of! Be sure to link where you helped out at on a Moderators profile! They will let you know if you've done enough to remove your alert."
The Moderator would then decide if you deserve your alert to be removed or not.
Exceptions:
*Some alerts, depending on the severity, would be irremovable. These alerts would not have the information on how to remove the alert on them. Examples of these alerts would be, but aren't limited to:
Summary:
We all make mistakes, and part of the mistake making process is learning from them. By putting an effort in helping out around the site you have a chance to undo the mistake you made. If you make the mistake again, the alert is permanent.

I support this suggestion! I have received some alerts when I was newer to the site, and they still haunt me to this day! I'm always afraid to check my alerts tab.

Hi, st19_galla! It's nice to meet you. You're an amazing helper and overall person around the community. I'd like to share my opinion of what I think of this suggestion
I don't like to think of alerts as bad marks on your account. The point of an alert is for the Scratch Team to privately let the user know something important, such as telling them a rule they must follow in the future. I believe that alerts should stay in the “Alerts” divider of a user's message. I am very fond of the way the alert system works on Scratch. If what you suggested was added to the alert, I think it would defeat the purpose of the alert. Instead of thinking about and applying what was written in the alert, the user would be thinking about what they need to do to get rid of the alert. For example, let's say a user got an alert telling them to be more constructive. Without your suggestion (the way it is now), the user would hopefully think about how they need to be more constructive. If what you suggested was added to the alert, they'd be thinking about how they could get rid of the alert, instead of thinking about being more constructive. Then they'd start being super nice in those studios and forums you linked to, but for the wrong reason. They'd only help out in those areas to get rid of their alert, not becuase they enjoy helping out. Then the alert would disappear. By then, the user would forget that they need to be more constructive, and they'd stop helping out because they were only helping out to get rid of the alert.
Your intentions for this suggestion are good. I see that you love helping out the community, and that's an awesome thing. I don't think that you should stop coming up with more creative suggestions
You're a spectacular person, and I believe that you could have some amazing ideas that could make Scratch an even better place, despite it already being such an amazing community filled with amazing people like you. Keep being awesome, st19_galla. And sorry, but you can add me to the “no support” list. Please understand my reasons for not supporting this suggestion
Have a great day!

I do like the idea of some alerts being “removable”. And this would help the community out too. However, having the Moderators have to review the actions and decide if enough has been done would be a lot of work for the Moderators. There are a lot of alerts that go out each day…

@isequalsawesome
Your post is too long to quote, but you raise good points. I agree with you that acts done just to remove an alert do not carry the integrity of kindness. I can see mean Scratchers attempting to abuse St19_galla's proposed feature.
However, I disagree that alerts are simply messages from a moderator. Your are correct that they are (and in fact, to warn users isn't the only reason to send alerts), but many Scratchers relate alerts with negative connotations. Most often, alerts are sent for behavioral reasons. The surprise of receiving an alert in one's mailbox also contributes to negative feelings.
Perhaps a better way to deal with alerts is to destigmatize them. In a topic I made which proposed less scary alerts, a user wrote examples of alerts with friendlier text content, which would probably help reduce their negativity.
Of course, moderators would exercise common sense when deciding whether to remove an alert or not.

Support! New Scratchers make mistakes a lot, simply because they don't know any better. Yes, they should read the Community Guidelines, but just reading those probably wouldn't be enough for you to be perfect as a New Scratcher. Many of them probably get alerts. If it is anything too serious, or a repeat offense, then it should be permanent. But a lot of times, when you've just started out here, you don't really know any better, even if you do read the Community Guidelines. After a while, you will start to learn, but then you have the alerts forever.
Anyway, I don't think that people should be commenting on an ST profile “I helped out here! Now can my alert be repealed?”. First off, that would publicly announce that they have received an alert, and that they aren't helping to help out; only just to get an alert removed. So maybe, if they help out, and the ST can see that they've learned, then the alert can be repealed. But I don't agree with commenting on ST profiles to show where they helped. If somebody is a good helper, the Scratch Team will see it, and they'll know when to repeal the alert.
It also may be a lot of work for moderators, but at the same time, the more accurate helpers, the more moderators can just tell people to read the above, without having to answer themselves. So it may create work in one area, but it will also remove work in others.
So, support for repealing alerts, just not commenting on moderators profiles.
