Flights
I'm guessing most of us have been on a plane at some time or another.
Who did you fly with, what were your experiences? What were the meals like? What kind of entertainment did you get?
My best experience flying would probably be an Air France flight to Paris. Great food, fine entertainment, comfortable seats (for economy)…

Never been on a plane. Except ones like Concorde at Duxford and the Vulcan. Gosh, the Vulcans were AWESOME!

I've mostly had good experiences flying out to New Zealand. It takes the best part of two days door to door but the trip wasn't too much trouble.
At one point I found myself thinking “I could murder a curry…” shortly before boarding. Turns out the first meal was dinner and chicken korma was on the menu - luuuuuverly. Unfortunately breakfast was some Chinese affair that really was not much fun to wake up to. Serves me right for trying to be adventurous, I guess! To make that trip I've flown with Emirates (via Dubai), Singapore Airlines (via Hong Kong), and I think Air New Zealand (via LAX). Of those the last one was the worst. During the stop over at LAX we were all fingerprinted and ID checked. Ugh, we were literally on the ground to refuel, nothing more.
I've not been back to New Zealand since 2008 though so the other flights I've made have been around the UK and Ireland. On that account I can say that the flights were comfy enough but the amount of hassle generally made taking the train the easier option. I'd rather be able to walk around and not worry about baggage limits than endure security theatre for extended periods.

I hate flying
On time on a 4 hour flight to Aruba, the woman next to me chewed gum as loudly as you possibly can and topped it off with a huge onion sandwich midflight

I've only been on planes three or four times, but they were many, many years ago.

I've always flown on Southwest, but the flight was never longer than five hours, so nothing fancy, bag of peanuts and a soda.

Possibly an inappropriate day to ask about flying.
In all seriousness though, I actually enjoy flying. It can be relaxing just looking out the window.

I flew for the first time in 2010. I was fourteen years old. Sure, it was a little scary the first time, but it doesn't take long to get used to. I flew to the state of Washington, and found it really cool to see the mountains from up in the sky (then again, I find it cool seeing mountains anyway since I don't live in a mountainous area). In total, I've flown on about fifteen planes.

I agree. It's really relaxing at night Possibly an inappropriate day to ask about flying.

It depends for flying. It's relaxing at night seeing all the lights below and stuff. My favorite flight I do every year is from Chicago to San Diego. We always do it at night, so it's really relaxing. Also, my parents always get us out of school early. We get to the airport around 2:00, get on board at 3:00, and arrive at Chicago at dark. Then we usually get dinner and board after that. We get to San Diego late at night, and it's so relaxing. Sorry if I screwed up the time zones.
Jeez, we had the worst flight ever from Detroit to Raliegh ever like a month ago. We had to sit in front of these two bratty kids the whole ride! “he stole my cookie!” “you have no pink jolly ranchers!” jeez shut up!

I've flown in small aircraft before.
“OMG STOP LOOKING DOWN” “IT'S TIPPING OVER AAAAAA” “IT'S GOING TOO FAST” “OMG TOO HIGH UP” “GET ME DOWWWWWN”
Yeah, I'll definitely be doing that again.

For some reason when I saw the topic name, I thought this would be a sequel to Disney's Planes and I was like, “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO”.
But anyways, I've never really been on long flights.
Probably the longest I've been on was Chicago to Los Angeles which was about 4 hours. (I think?)

Back on topic though, I have actually never flown or been on a plane. My family does a lot of travelling in our RV though, and I'm sure its just as fun as flying.
