What to do with members who are inactive?

I like it! Can I add a little bit of information to it, though? About gently and nicely ‘firing’ people, and about how to actually be active?

4. Being Active
If you are like @ABC in the previous examples, try to be more active. If you have already completed your assignment, ask for a little more work, or just keep up with the forum, like bumping it and making sure everyone's on time. If you don't have an assignment, ask for one. If the creator is ignoring you, just kindly tell the collab group that you are not feeling welcome/involved and wish to quit. If you REALLY want to continue working on the collab, just make up an assignment that you think will be helpful.

5. Laying Them Down ‘Easy’
If you feel like your @ABC isn't doing enough work and isn't following Step 4, AND you already tried Steps 1-3, you might have to ‘fire’ them from the collab. The best way to do this is to just explain to them that your collab needs hard workers and they are just not being active enough for the other people. Also tell them how they can get their ‘job’ back. If you just say something like

@ABC, you're FIRED! You aren't doing any of your work PLUS you aren't answering me on your profile page!
Then @ABC will hate you forever and try to evilly advertise your collab (Ex. OMG @XYZ's collab Return Of The Goose is failing terribly!)
So if you just say something like:
@ABC, sorry to say this, but I'm afraid you have to stop working on our collab. You haven't been working on your assignments, and you haven't been answering me when I try to contact you. Our collab is doing well, but we need hard workers to complete our tasks. We can't be held back because of one person. If you will do you job a tiny bit faster… we'll happily invite you back .

Yep that's all of my suggestions XD

Oh! This is a great suggestion! I'll add in part 5, but part 4 is not really relevant. My topic is about What to do with inactive members, not how to be active. But good suggestion!

For part 5, can you add a part to say that when you fire people, you must always show that you might invite them back if they do their work better? I know its in the example, but I think this is an important point.

How do you do a collaborating project without this happening?

Not everyone is perfect. In every, yes, every collaboration, there are a bunch of collaborators who just join and say ‘I come online every day’ and yeah, they do come online every day, but they don’t do their job every day. So what do you do with them?
1. Remind them of their job on the forums first
You can just make a post on the collaboration topic. Say something like,
Hi @ABC, please do your assignment to draw the goose. Thank you.
Usually works. Someone quotes it and says that they are going to do it. Please be polite and not say something like
@ABC !!! Why are you so lazy?! DO YOUR ASSIGNMENT!!!
That’s not nice. But what if the person did not follow the topic?
2. Comment on their profile
For those who did not follow the topic, you can remind them quite a few times and they don’t reply, unless they remember the link and go to that forum often. Then you must comment on their profile. Comment only once or twice. No one likes spam. In your comment, please remind them to do their job and also to follow the collaboration topic.
3. Give them something like a deadline.
If they still don’t reply, give them something like a deadline. They must complete their job by then. The deadline must not be too pushy. It should give them ample time to complete. Tell them that they must do it before the deadline or they will be considered as inactive.

If ever you feel like kicking people out of your collaboration, well I can’t really stop you. I know what it feels like to let someone have their name in the credits when they actually do not contribute anything. But before you do it, step back. Just do the above actions. Because maybe they just did not follow the page or something. But let's move on to ‘kicking members out’

One note to all members of any collaborations: If you are going on vacation, and can’t do your assignments, inform the others. They will really get frustrated when you are inactive for so long.

Well, what a great topic you made!

If only I had this when I was working on my animated series. Some characters weren't recording their voices and didn't listen to my continuous reminders. By the way, the series is in this studio.

Aww… Actually I had that problem too with my long ago newspaper. And I shut it down. But for my newest collab, I invented this system, so it went pretty well. And plus, in my new collab, everyone is pretty much active. Sure, I will check out that studio.

I like the guide! It was really written in practical, friendly language and gave “non-examples” as well as examples. Believe me, I've seen those “YOU'RE-SO-LAZY!!!” people before. I've actually referred people here when they were having trouble with collabs.

I don't think you need to bump sticky topics. They are always at the top of the forums.

This is perfect and will keep things organized. May I suggest, however, bolding #4? It'll make things even more organized.

If you say someting like @ABC, I am going to bully you if @XYZ Return Of The Goose is not done! @ABC will be terrified and won't do it! Then you will bully him.
