New Sound Detection Block Sugestion

That's way too specific for a block.
Next thing you know:
When someone behind John says ( pizza:: ring ) :: motion
fire the blue cannon until a user leaves :: operators

Really now?

It's called sarcasm, therefore that's not a fallacy. Besides, you did realise a fallacy was detected in your comment?
Anyways, 99% of the forums don't know what fallacies are. We shouldn't use fallacies to undermine arguments.

My opinion still stands that you should still use your built-in microphone. If you haven't got a built in microphone in your laptop (NOT desktop), then ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ since your computer is too old. Anyways, a speaker to microphone set up should be fine. Can anybody give an example of a programming language that actually uses that block?

I wasn't saying it was wrong, I was just saying the fallacy was fallacious. Take that.

Bump.

The problem delving deep into the archives is that it is much harder to do so with your brain. I can't remember if this has a dupe or not.

Full Support! An idea I thought up for one of my projects uses this block, so it would become possible if this was added!

Headsets, or some computers that don't have built in microphones (I have one, and it runs completely fine.)
Support, I don't get the hate of this. Seriously, loudness isn't the most useful block either, but it can be used - I think loudness of audio output has about the same amount of uses. Loudness of microphone or audio output just makes sense to go together.

Holy moly- I didn't know that this discussion went under a huge flame war. (from my perspective anyway)

Semi-support for the reason above, since the block posted by the OP is just a re-skin of the Loudness block but with sprites.
