modulus is a main function in programming. if you don't know what it means, you can just right click it, and click help

if we're going to rename it to anything, we should rename it to:
(() % (0) :: operators)
Remainders are a real function in math too

Support, as I keeping learning and forgetting what the mod does bc I never use it, and implementing would certainly make it easy to understand.

Using a different format than the other math reporters for literally no reason sounds like the exact opposite of “kid-friendly” to me. What makes this weird format any better than ((var) % (var))?
okokokokokokokokokokokok, i said kid-friendly but that was a joke, i just meant “less-confusing” i didn't really mean “kid-friendly”

Okay, but you still didn't answer why we should have the weird “(number) of (number) %” format.

Okay the Scratch Team should re-add the Tips Window :-/

So basically, 11 modulo 4 AKA 11 % 4 is 3. Let's try renaming it to something kid-friendly. Let's try

I'd probably confuse it with:
(()% of () ::operators)

In Scratch, “arrays” are called “lists,” even though most programming languages call them “arrays.” A beginner is more likely to understand “list” than “array.” Why can't mod be renamed?
lists are different then arrays.

when you set arrays, you have to set them to only have a certain amount of variables
lists can have infinite
Perhaps in some coding languages (looking at Java, C, C++, etc) but in JavaScript, which Scratch uses under the hood, arrays can be as long as you want them to be

No support. mod is the standard way to say it. if you move to a new platform they will use mod not your version

that's the problem.
for some reason schools (at least mine) taught “remainders” instead of modulus*.
scratch should be for ~8 year olds so no.

*heck, it's named mod not modulus. even more confusing.

Scratch also aims to teach programming.
Very few languages refer to it as a remainder.
