Name Ideas- How to market a complicated project

I've found that on Scratch, the most popular projects have been the ones with the best names. For example, a low quality game called “Mario” or “Minecraft” can do really well, but a high quality game with unique names may not do as well. If people were forced to play both games, there would be more love its on the higher quality game, however before people can love a project they have to load it. Therefore, regardless of whether people prefer the higher quality game, they might be more likely to click on the more recognizable titles.

I need some names that will most likely get picked by Scratchers when they see the project. My project is a gaming console, that comes with an OS style graphical interface, which leads to two games. The games are City Cast and Super Dasher! As you can imagine, trying to create a title that advertises a city simulation and an arcade game is difficult.

Anyone get any cool ideas? The console is called the mBx! The limit is about 22 characters so that it fits in the space.

  • mBxOS with City Cast
  • mBx Console: 2 Games!
  • CityCast&SuperDasher

I agree with your thoughts on project names, but what is possibly more important is the thumbnail.

If I'm going to be honest, I don't think mBx is a great name (to have in the title at least). I think that recognisable names which are real words work better.

If I were naming it, I'd probably simply call it “OS Gaming Console” and make sure that the thumbnail looks good- apparently a picture tells 1,000 words

So basically the limit is 1022 characters then!

The thumbnail is EXTREMELY important, as Phirrip said.

One of my projects, Medieval Madness, was curated for a while.

I had a pretty bad thumbnail, but still managed to get 21 messages on my first day?

After realizing that I was on the front page, I changed the thumbnail into this pretty cool snapshot with “Medieval Madness” in a neat font.

As a result, I got over 4 times more messages the next day.

Though this amazing increase may not have been entirely due to the thumbnail, I do believe that change was an integral part of my project's increased fame.

MORAL: Get a good thumbnail

Thanks! I'll start filing mine right away! Does anyone have any glitter?

If you want, but I want to warn you that it will be unlikely to be used because I have some ideas already. I'm open to change though.
