I suppose having a text pattern. You can choose to be like blue or have a gradient effect. You can choose to have text be bubble letters, and an outline. It would be useful for text to make it look pretty

Where would this be? The editor? The forums? Etc

Besides, I'm not sure if I fully understand the idea. You need to thoroughly explain your jdeas.

In that case, no support. Just use an online text-beautifying program. Scratch isn't made to be some complex image editor with 100 functions.

Some parents won't let them do that.

Some parents won't let their kids have a facebook account. Does that mean we should turn Scratch into Facebook?

Full support. DaSpudLord, your argument is biast. Scratch should have beautiful text, because why don't we just remove text from scratch?

U'm not trying to start an argument, but seriously, to do programming, you most likely have to have text in the backdrops, or sprites. It would make text look more pretty. Then if it is not a text editor:

Even basic paint programs need to have some basic text editing features, and Scratch has that. But text patterns are not part of basic text editing, which means that there's no reason Scratch needs this.

To make thumbnails get more attention. Besides, if your saying that we should not have that, then why do we have an editor, when you could use another program. Boom

Are you talking about the paint editor? We have that because people need to have a way to draw images using basic paint editing features. Like I said before, it's supposed to be a simple drawing program that beginners can use, not some professional art studio.

Also, please don't say “boom” when you make an argument. It's annoying and gets on my nerves.

Semi support. BTW, good arguments!

Yes, @DaSpudLord is right. It is meant to be a basic art editor. But still, it can be useful!

Because the Scratch editors are for people who don't want to waste time having to make a bit of SIMPLE text, save it, then upload it to Scratch.

However, if they bother to make pretty thumbnails, they might as well use GIMP or Inkscape.

Plus, you might as well say:
Full support. iamunknown2, your argument is biased. Scratch should have a fully-functional Flappy Bird sprite, because otherwise, why don't we just remove sprites from Scratch?

Use GIMP or Inkscape then… They're free (free as in no price and free as in you have to freedom to do whatever you want to the software, e.g look at the code for the program and change the code), and they're used by a lot of people.

And if you say “they don't have admin permissions”, then Inkscape (I don't know about GIMP) has a portable version.
