Does anyone think that game controllers (e.g.: an Xbox 360 controller) should be supported on Scratch?

I think they should. Here are some examples of what I mean:
(left stick x value)
(left stick y value)
<controller button [ 1 v] pressed>

They can be;

1) With an extension
2) There are programs which will map joystick inputs to keys, so may be one for xbox controller.

You should really then use GameMaker instead of Scratch. Because the coding language is really simple.

It would either be in the extensions or sensing category.

if scratch had too many easy codes then no one would use scratch and plus no one here has heard of gamemaker
ask [is game maker really better] and wait
