Okay, ignore that, but why do we even have FPC. It's basically the FPC being the ST featuring projects. The ST probably had to write lots and lots of code just to make that feature.

Makes people happy // Who?
Let's people say their exact phrase, as per Scratchifier // Sure.
Not really a pro, but *there are already 20 supporters // So why add it?
Cons:
none // You can't deny facts. There are cons.
And for your cons
1. Not LITTLE benefit // Why?
2. Benefits to other people so they know what to check out, on their profile page // But that benefits people, not the community.
3. It is not really used for advertising // It can be.
4. Just like following is uneducational
5. IT encourages creativity as per scratchifier, (choosing your own creative message)

you don't simply agree just because there is more pros. If you have five 1-cents and one 10 dollars, would you say the give 1-cents is better because they are more in quantity? It's the value, the worth, that matters.

How will that be a pro? You can say that it's customizable, you can say that it's fun, but how useful is it?
- How will this improve your learning experience? Will this feature help peoples to learn?
- Is it effective? How efficient? In reaching your goal? Is this the only way, is there a better way? If so, why this?
Also, benefiting other peoples to know what to check out, potential to friendly advertise, choosing your own creative message, fun, is that not little? That's 4, 4 pros, but the value of each pros is too low.

About following, it's the numbers of followers that is uneducational. Following feature itself isn't- It's just like magazine or newspaper subscription, but honestly, this community doesn't need those numbers. I believe the ST keep those just because too many peoples are obsessed with it and would spam the messages with rebellion.
