I was honestly never a fan of Adventure Time or Teen Titans, the ONLY show I liked, and I mean ONLY is The Amazing World of Gumball. All the other shows are just way, way too cheesy. The only cartoon multiple adults in my life had genuinely laughed at was The Amazing World of Gumball.

why is it that cartoon network never reruns older shows like cow and chicken and i am weasel? i remember those just as much as i remember dexter and powerpuff girls! meanwhile, courage and kids next door (shows id like to forget) get reruns… not trying to be a downer but still

I hope it's okay to post here..? I don't think necroposting exists in TIRAP and it was linked in the directory.
My favorite CN show is Ed Edd n' Eddy! I liked it as a kid because I thought it was funny, but as an adult I like it because I feel like it has a surprising amount of depth to its characterizations of the Eds, which makes it fun to analyze. It's been my SpIn (Special Interest) for several years
I'm a big fan of the CN City bumpers! They were bumpers that ran from 2004-2007 featuring all different CN cartoons living and interacting in a big city together. It felt very creative and I wish CN or a different channel would do something similar now.
I don't watch as much modern CN nowadays, but I enjoy rewatching shows like Codename: Kids Next Door, Chowder, and The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy.
I love learning about the production history of CN cartoons and seeing where the staff that worked on them are now in the animation industry. I'm saddened by how the future looks for a channel that spawn the careers for countless creatives in the animation industry (several big names in the animation industry did work on Dexter's Lab which launched their careers forward, and later the same happened with The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack).

Hi! Who else agrees that Ed n eddy weren’t appropriate way too many times? Or that Looney tunes is pretty steoreotypical? But adventure time really makes up for the rest of it. My all time favs are adventure time power puff girls (disagree with me all u want) and teen titan.
Not sure whether or not you'll see this, but allow me to provide my two cents as an Ed Edd n Eddy fan and a classic cartoon fan (keep in mind that these are just my opinions):
-The thing about mature humor in cartoons and why I think it's funny is that it provides a touch of realism to the cartoon. Obviously, crudeness in real life is everywhere, so if everything in a cartoon was all clean and happy, that would feel unnatural. Another thing is that keeping everything clean can come across as treating the audience as sensitive and juvenile (I think there's a show I could use as an example, but I can't seem to think of one right now).
-Now on to the stereotypes seen in Looney Tunes. It's important to know that those were a product of their time. Looney Tunes (and other classic cartoons like Tom & Jerry) were produced way back in the 30's through 50's. So humor like that was common. Another thing to consider is that the stereotypes were always used in a lighthearted, humorous manner. They were funny because they were so cartoonish and obviously unrealistic, you couldn't possibly take it seriously. Imagine it like slapstick in cartoons (characters getting hurt as a means of comedy). We laugh at those because it's ridiculous and everyone knows it's unrealistic. So it makes sense that we'd apply those to racial depictions as well. Also the point I made about not treating the audience like babies applies here as well.
Another important thing to note is that the makers of the cartoons themselves have said that these stereotypical depictions do not reflect their actual views. And I imagine that they were actually very friendly towards the racially diverse IRL.
Edit: Oh, and I should also add that I am black myself and the racial jokes don't bother me.

If you mean “removing unique hours and just having CN become the Gumball and TTG channel” then support.Support Say “support” if you think they are cutting Cartoon Network's hours WAY TOO MUCH!
If you mean "having [as] take up more and more time" then kinda support, although in Canada [as] has it's own dedicated channel seperate from CN's

I’ve been watching Cartoon Network lately out of hate for Nickelodeon, uninterest in Disney Channel for some reason, and no coverage for Boomerang.
And unlike Nickelodeon, I enjoy it. But when it’s literally ONLY TTG (right now, it’s not, that’s kinda overreacting but I’m new to the channel) and the filler for anything else is just movies half of which with less than a 6 on IMDb, that’s when I leave.
I like the 1998 PPG and I saw a few eps of Regular Show, they are pretty good.
