An Advertising "Social Media" on Scratch
Recently, I have been thinking about creating an Advertising Social Media on Scratch called PixelNet. I have a few ideas for the project:
Project Concept
While I was at Scratch, I noticed that promotional business in project comments is common, and many project developers post frequent warnings asking others not to promote. This led me to believe that perhaps this might be one likely solution to that issue in the future.
Main Idea
PixelNet could be a website where, in the future, users would use a password to log in, give some basic information about themselves, and then have a way to post an ad for their project, studio, or contest. Users could tag their ads with topics, so that individuals looking for specific types of projects or contests would find them readily.
Features
The website can offer users the chance to design personalized ads based on their needs. After they've entered the necessary information, they can choose categories like “Game Projects,” “Art Projects,” “Studios,” or “Contests,” so others can easily view projects that are of interest to them without having to go through unrelated submissions.
Ad Types
There could be different ad formats, such as text ads or image ads. The users would be able to choose how they'd like to show their projects. For those who want something fast and professional, a user-friendly template could also be offered.
Image Integration Project
Along with PixelNet, I am considering creating another project that would, in the future, allow people to draw or upload images. Once a person draws or uploads an image, a unique code could be generated, which could be copied and pasted into their PixelNet ads. By doing this, the image would appear right inside their ad, providing individuals with a more interactive and engaging experience when they look at their posts.
Convenience for Project Creators
In the future, I may also give a option to project creators to have an option of adding a link to PixelNet in the description of the project. This would encourage users to post ads in PixelNet instead of the project comments, reducing the need for project creators to mark ads and keeping the comment section clean.
Benefits
One of the possible benefits of PixelNet is that it could reduce the amount of advertising being posted in project comments, which would help make the environment cleaner and nicer for Scratch users. It could also be a platform where users can discover projects, studios, and contests based on their interests with ease.
Safety Features
To ensure a safe and positive experience, PixelNet can have moderation for spam prevention, offensive content, and maintaining the ads targeted at Scratch projects or contests.
Questions for the Community
I would appreciate it if you could give your feedback regarding PixelNet! Let's begin with these questions:

Questions for the Community
I would appreciate it if you could give your feedback regarding PixelNet! Let's begin with these questions:
- Would you use a site like PixelNet to promote your Scratch projects in the future?
- Would you prefer seeing your ads appear in categories like “Game Projects,” “Art Projects,” “Studios,” or “Contests”? Would that make it easier to find projects you'd like to participate in?
- How about adding pictures to your PixelNet ads in the future? Would that make your ads more inviting?
- How much would it mean to you as a project starter to be able to post a link to PixelNet in your project descriptions so that users could just post ads without clogging up your comment section with them?
- Any suggestions for how the PixelNet platform or ad handling in general can be improved in the future?
- And is this allowed by the Scratch guidelines?

An Advertising "Social Media" on Scratch
It honestly seems like a great idea but the scratch community rarely looks at projects, and spends more time advertising their own rather than looking at others. so the chances of actually getting your project seen is low, ultimately defeating the purpose, thats why INdont like “Advertise here” studios, I guess some people can look at it, but not many.
