Why is that a bad thing? From reports it seems like the original version of Born Again was terrible and not at all what fans wanted to see, while this show seems to be at least trying to be a continuation of the original Netflix show.

Major changes like that partway through a production are never good. Just look at Justice League. People didn't like what Zack Snyder was doing with DC, so they got Joss Whedon to try and “fix it”.
