The Movies, TV, and Music Review Topic
What do we do?
This is a place to discuss and review the movies, TV, and music that we see or listen to. They will then be added to a database project that is currently finished and awaiting reviews. Just use the form below and I'll add it.
Just posting reviews is a little monotonous, so I encourage people to discuss about what people are posting. That won't get added to the database, but it will make this topic more than just Scratch Metacritic.
Where is the form?
Right here.
What are the rules for reviews?
So where is the database?
It's not out yet. I want a review in each category (maybe my own) before I release it, otherwise the project will be partially broken.
That's it. Go on. Review.

What are the rules for reviews?
- Don't put spoilers for the media. If you absolutely have to, preface the review with a warning. Preferably in big letters. But try not to. I have to read over each of these, right?
- The Age Rating/Explicit Content section has a specific format. Movies use the American MPAA format. TV also uses the American format. This is because they are the most common among English Scratch's demographic. Music uses an Explicit/Non-Explicit format. Most streaming services accurately label albums and songs correctly, although mistakes creep in.
- Be careful with PG-13/TV-14/Explicit media. Don't mention WHY it's explicit if you can. I'll decide if it's OK to add case-by-case.
- R/TV-MA/Heavily Explicit media will most likely not be added, so don't try to review it here. Telling kids to go watch a very good R-rated movie isn't exactly what I want to be doing as a person. I don't even watch this stuff. Don't. Just make a Metacritic or IMDB account at that point.
- Music and TV and reviewed as a whole. Music should be reviewed by the EP/Album if possible. If the song is only available as a single, go for it. TV shows should be reviewed as a whole season or the full series. I will sort them accordingly.
So where is the database?
It's not out yet. I want a review in each category (maybe my own) before I release it, otherwise the project will be partially broken.
That's it. Go on. Review.

i made a review of my own, of a movie I saw recently.

Genre: Documentary
Age Rating: TV-14 (according to Canadian Netflix)
Rating: 75/100
Review: This is an interesting and engaging Netflix doc about a Sikh woman getting catfished by someone who stole another person's identity. The story ramps up progressively, and this girl's life really got trashed by the catfisher. Who really did it could be considered a spoiler, so I'll spare you that detail, but it was a real shocker. Many people would say this woman wasn't bright, with some shoddy defenses as to why they could never meet in person. But the catfisher was cunning and always made evidence and backed it up whenever a hole peeked through. Sometimes it felt like a drag. They were in long conversations, repeating facts that make it harder to watch. But it was a crazy insight into how people fall for these tricks. Emotional dependency, convincing backstories, and prolonging the reveal of the truth. The movie includes fairly realistic mockups of Facebook and Messenger, with images replaced by actors for privacy. Sometimes it was easy to call them fake, but other times they were indistinguishable. I was very impressed. Overall, great doc! I was very impressed by the quality of the information. And my heart goes out to the victims of this terrible crime.

Review: With every passing year comes a new entry in the Hello (BPM) series, and my god did this hit it out of the park! The callbacks to previous Hello (BPM) songs was actually unexpected but also like so cool because of the way that Camellia was able to blend four different songs together and not make it super jarring to listen to. It all kinda fit together like it was supposed to be that way the whole time, and it's easily my favorite part of the song. This is kinda unrelated to the song itself but the visualizer was so good and really tied in with the chiptune-like synths being used and the glitchy sounds that accompany the song, which is something that I love to see with visualizers.Camellia riding his hat like a magic carpet was really goofy but not in a bad way! In fact, I really loved that part of the visualizer and the references to the other Hello (BPM) videos in the background as he's riding over the Hello (BPM) 2025 jacket art. Back to the song though, Camellia was able to use enough of these almost glitchy sounds to help add to the feeling of chaos that occurs as a result of its bpm without it feeling overbearing or ear-grating, especially with everything else going on in the song. Kudos to Camellia for once again making a banger song to kickstart the new year!

IMO previous years were better. Camellia lost the melody in the speed this time, while previous years had a distinct melody. This song hasn't even been added to streaming services (does bandcamp count) but screw it, I'll add it in a bit

I've decided to hold off on the Hello BPM 2025 review so I can add some more mainstream song reviews. I feel that it's more of a joke song since it's not on any streaming services

You never can be wrong about Pokémon Sun and Moon: The Animated Series and it's continuations, Ultra Adventures and Ultra Legends.this one.I remember watching this in like fifth or sixth grade and crying during the end of the last episode when Ash leaves Alola and then watching Pokemon Journeys and being super excited when they went back to Alola. And i think you can't argue that Journeys with it's own continuations, Master Journeys and Ultimate Journeys (which also includes To be a Pokémon Master) was also a pretty good series.
By the way, did you know that in Horizons 27 (As Long as i'm with my Friends!, TV Epsiode 1261), a wanderer appears, who also appeared in Journeys 101 (A (sic) One-Stick Wonder!, TV Episode 1188), who, until now, is the only character who appeared in both “Ash is Protagonist” (ep. 0001-1234) and "Volt Tackle Aeronauts (?) are Protagonists" (ep. 1235+).

Fun Fact:
Team Rocket VS. Team Plasma: Prologue (TV Episode 682, left unaired because airing date was 6 days after Tohoku earthquake disaster) was planned to air on March 17, 2011 in Japan.
If it was to be aired as an episode in Germany, the airing date would've been on September 11, 2011 (guessing by PokéWiki).

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is quite an adventure. We start off with a dramatic sequence of Shadow breaking out of containment on an island that I forgot the name of. We then see a simple scene of Sonic racing Tails and Knuckles, when in reality they were just holograms, so they could set up his surprise birthday party. They're then picked up by GUN, and they go off to stop Shadow. All the while, they try to collect the two keys that activate the Eclipse Cannon before Robotnik and his long-lost grandfather, and of course Shadow's with them too - plus, you get to learn all about Shadow's past.
The needledrops are quite good in this film, too. When Live and Learn comes in, it's an amazing scene. It's also quite a melancholy film, and the two teaser scenes - Shadow picking up his inhibitor rings, and Amy saving Sonic from many, many Metal Sonics - help tie it into the wider franchise. Sure, the song selection is a little weird - why would they include 99 Red Balloons over a race scene, who knows - but it's a nice trip nonetheless.
And I've marked up the score to 91 because of the incredible editing - did you even stop to think about the Robotnik dance scene? That's the same actor dancing with himself! Which would require a lot of digital masking, and editing together. In any case - this film is impressive and fun to watch. 91/100.

Age Rating/Explicit Content: PG, but should be G

Review:
Trust me, It will save your time reading this review than watching the movie if you're above the age of 8, anyway, this was the worst movie most likely ever made related to Nickelodeon since The Last Air Bender (2010). This movie follows SpongeBob and Sandy on an *adventure* to save Bikini bottom citizens from being turned into toys by the villain who doesn't feel like a villain, with unrealistic CGI above water, it rarely looks astonishing at times. At one point, Sandy's family wants her to join the circus, but they just take her to the villain's lab to save bikini bottom and call it a day. There isn't anything about this movie that could make someone above the age of 8 laugh, except a joke sometime in the movie included in conflicts of politics. Just wait for the Plankton movie, people think it's much better, don't waste your time watching The Last Air Bender 2.0. Nick is doomed!
