Huh! Interesting, though I don’t know how to implement that into gameplay…hmmm

You could go to @the__games I am pretty sure he is familiar with cells, as he has made the bits.

I would recommend that you contact him because he has info that you could use, also here is his bits studio https://scratch-mit-edu.ezproxyberklee.flo.org/studios/34577063/

Yeah, I agree with your point on the fact that we only have a month.
About the grid thing:
-You are an organism…or at least like the brain.
-Anyways: You fight off viruses & bacteria, almost like a tower defense, only the enemies come straight at you, instead of a pre-set trail.
-You can grow your organism size (eg. more cells), upgrade & specialize certain cells, and do things like that.
-We could add bosses, Roguelike gameplay (eg. randomized rooms, for varied ways to play, and/or choose between 3 randomized upgrades at a new level)
-Speaking of which!
LEVELS:
Gives player a sense of progression, AND allows a perfect time for a BIG upgrade, for the whole organism (all the cells)!
I can brainstorm more, but this is it so far.
Note: It might seem like a lot, but to be honest, a month is a decently long time when you don’t have to make preset levels. And also note that we can scrap the idea of different rooms, if we need to, but it wouldn’t be too hard, as there isn’t much interaction with walls, other than enemies having to move around them. We could just focus on more enemy types if we need to, and scrap that if we decide it’s better for the game & the time limit.
Hmmm, interesting ideas, and I think we should get rid of the wilderness survival, it just seems to not have enough potential. I like the idea of the bacteria thing. Can you whip up some concept art real quick?
And yes, we do only have a month. Only we've wasted a lot of it already! We need concept art immediately.

I’ll make some, but give me 23 minutes and…32 seconds before I can start.
BTW - The art right now will not be great, and will just be a sketch on a piece of paper. The profile in which I will post it is: totallysmallbrain. You can find the link on my profile, under “following” …I don’t know if I posted with that user on here yet.
Also: 21 minutes and 54 seconds!

Great! I'll transition it to vector.

I decided to use Scratch, because it was easier at the moment.

(It’s ugly for now, I’ll develop the art later)

Alrighty, I looked at your new prototype! I think yours looks better, but how would you do soft body physics with it?
Oh, and just had a new idea. What if your brain/organism was scalable by picking up cells and attaching them to your body?

Well, I mean soft body physics as in the thing I have with the current organism.
But then the enemies would be little germs, while you're a big white blood cell! And then you can shoot the bad guys with little white blood cells!
I've always loved the illustration of white blood cells being like missiles, in this game we could make them actually be missiles! And then you can get different types as upgrades!!!!!
This is going to be soooo good.
And yeah, your organism would grow by picking up little red blood cells and enemies! Pills could give it loads of XP, and all the little organisms would just be attached into the white blood cell thing!
I'll get to work on it a bit more very soon.

Alrighty, I checked out a few new changes you added! Is there a way to give the cell a bit of a bounce whenever you like squeeze against a wall and then come out, or whenever you press against a wall corner. Basically I’m asking how you would modify the code there to add in a bounce script.

Hmm, I might see if I can add that . . .
Sounds interesting.
And yeah, I'm excited for this project! I recolored some of the bits, and I'll work on the game “room” design next. I came up with this shield idea where all the little organisms attached to you will be stuck to the edge of the mucus, but when you have the shield on, they'll go in a circle!

The new stuff looks really cool, though I personally preferred the previous blue for the shield; the red could be used for attack mode? Maybe that could be a balance there, where you have to switch between attacking and shielding as you shoot up the enemies. I was also thinking…what if you could, instead of eating random things that pop up on the map, kill enemies, THEN eat them up to grow your level or sonething? And maybe specific enemies give you different buffs to different abilities, so you have to use your…brain more instead of randomly going around, killing whatever gets close. Also, new idea: your “ORGS” are your bullets? That would be a nice visual to see when you’re low on ammunition. Then maybe enemies drop ammunition? That’s just an idea. Oooo, what if more “ORGS” = bigger size? Then, that connected to the “ORGS” being ammunition, you could shoot some missile cells out, to fit into small areas. This would allow for some nice decision making that the player would need to do. Example: If the player is fighting off a huge hoard of diseases, and need a ton of ammunition to defend against them…luckily, they see a nice, enclosed area…with a very small entry. However, the space has only a few open areas for cells to get through. So, they decide to shoot out almost all their ammunition in exchange for safe coverage. But…oh no! They forgot! They need all that ammunition to fight off the enemy! They lose! That allows for some rage quite situations, but they can’t blame anyone but themselves. :]
BTW ~ I copy-pasted this from a comment I was going to post…until I realized it was at -1284 characters (somewhere in that range), so…sorry if it’s long and messy.

Just saw the concept art and it is actually really good!
For making more cell defenses, though, you need to make it so that the new cells come from pre-existing cells (As that is actually what happens) The cell needed to be protected can be maybe a heart cell, and this is only a small scale of a piece of the human body. The attackers will most obviously be bacteria. That's pretty much I have to say for now.

OOOOOOOOOHHHHH I just got an Idea!!!!
(Also, you know that using multiple lines really helps people read your paragraphs, right?)
Anyway, my idea is basically you can shoot out the little orgs to kill the enemies, but then you can also pick them up if the enemy doesn't kill them or you miss.
But you grow by gobbling up the little germs who are attacking you! I'll get to work.
I like the size idea! I'll do that too. Meanwhile, can you make some germ vector art? I was thinking of making them a green-ish yellowy color like mucus. Although different colors and shapes would be good too for different enemies and things.
I'll just start working on it lol!

We shouldn't make the cells grow, only create more. This is because cells don't grow larger in real life as it is easier for them to just duplicate instead of growing.
