can a glass of water run doom?

First of all, we need a thick glass with a slit inside just big enough to fit a medium sized screen (we can't place the screen in the water for obvious reasons).

Try deionized water!

I'm pretty sure If doom can run on a calculator pregnancy test and a MCDONALDS CASH REGESTOR then scratch can do it

I mean, to be fair, cash registers are typically just fancy computers.

*pulls out cash register from 1879*

Actually they can all do basic addition, so…

In theory it could run Doom.

At a framerate of days (weeks?) per frame.

Yes, it can, given enougth water and fast enougth input. Steve mould made water-based logic gates, and if you can make a NAND gate, then you should be able to run doom on water. Not sure how you’d play it tho.

For example, you can make a bottle of water with a small one with a hole down and to the left (at the left side) and if made correctly, water will only output if enougth water is input. You can also use the hydraulic analogy for electricity, though that requires even more “not glass of water” and a turning force

Can an image scanner run doom?
It would be considered a bit cheating, but here it is:

Step 1: attach perpipherals.
I reccomend using a 0.96 inch OLED screen but it can be any screen, it has to work.
I also recommend putting a keyboard.

Step 2: Reprogram it to run code from the computer.
Somehow do that.

Step 3: Inject doom
Try injecting doom (or a sligthly modified port) into it.

Step 4: Enjoy!
You can now enjoy the power to run doom on an image scanner.

Ease of Setup: near 1/10

Safari can’t open the page because it couldn’t connect to the server. So please stop posting the big doom images

Well, it could store the raw binary information that is Doom, although they can't do basic binary logic (NOT, OR and/or AND), so they can't run it.

Yes.
Steps:
  1. Disassemble the lighting system
  2. Sort out: wire, semiconductor, P semiconductor, and N semiconductor
  3. Put them together and make a computer
  4. Run doom

But then it's no longer a Christmas tree or a set of Christmas trees- it's just a silicon CPU.

That's like saying that oil is a plant because it's the remains of plants that died millions of years ago- it isn't. The parts just broke down and became something distinctly different.

good point, this is why we put the doom computer inside a christmas lightbulb
