Mythology SWC March 2025

I messed up again (I'm not crying…)

Welcome Willow and Kat! Thank you so much for accepting my offer to co-lead in Myth this session! I plan to make this an awesome session and I truly can't wait to lead Myth with you two!
Also, feel free to introduce yourself!

Here's the general idea:
(the idea is a little hazy) The Thebans had just attacked the Athenian outpost at Plataea. This action has sparked the flame of war. A civil war. The Peloponnesian War. Greece was torn apart. They fought against each other relentlessly. A huge mass of Greeks were dying daily, and the worst part? The gods were split. They were all fighting over whether the Spartans should win or the Athenians should win. Athena, of course, took the Athenians side, while Ares took Sparta’s side. Once all the Olympians had taken their sides and finally, that left the decision up to Zeus, King of the Gods. In the stories that you hear, the Spartans won. But did they really? Well, that’s for you to decide. Athena has chosen you to convince the gods to join the Athenians’ cause. Can you convince them before it's too late?

The campers will work together to complete challenges to gain the gods’ favors. These challenges could be anything from puzzles to writing a certain amount of words. For word count groups, I will split them up into three different groups, each tasked with convincing two gods to join their side.
(I may have to change the idea for word counts)

~ Welcome, Demigods! ~

“Are you sure they can do it, Sage?” Three girls stand in front of you. Other than the fact that they wore chitons, they seemed different. They had an aura of power and wisdom surrounding them. You notice that the one that spoke was a girl with short black hair, and she was currently pacing back and forth.

“I agree with Kat. Even I think they’re a little too…unqualified,” said the tall brown-haired girl. Her dark brown eyes staring at the third girl. The third girl had long blonde hair pulled back in a braid. Her stormy gray eyes flashed with different colors as she studied you and the rest of the kids who appeared with you.

“They are here for a reason.” Sage said, “And we need all the help we can get."

➵ Hey, y’all! I’m Sage, a young christian overthinker who asks way too many questions! I live in the Eager Succulent Tyranny (est) and I love cookies <3 I am involved in tons of activities! Those activities being: archery, quiz bowl, art club, chess club, drama club, pep band, softball, jazz band, and honor band. I play flute and I double on saxophone! This will be my second session of SWC and my first session leading! <333

Guys, I think I've decided on our cabin name. Out of all the ideas, I like Myth Battlefield or Mythology Battlefield OR The gods' battlefield! I'll let you two pick

Edit: As Willow requested, here's the confusing timeline <3: Athena goes into the future and snags some of her own (her demigod children/campers) Sage, Willow, and Kat (also her demigod children) will be from the present as in Peloponnesian war times. They have to lead the campers to convince the gods to join Athena’s side. I promise that it will make more since eventually <333

Edit: I'll make some last edits to the desc tomorrow! Let try to have this posted by Friday!

Yes <33 we’ve got this! I’ll go for the Gods’ battlefield, because we’re mortals, and we rely on the gods to not be crushed by Ares, and the power will be supplied by the gods on our side!

here's a wcg idea- if you have a list then that would be great! this is very rough and just from my assuming-

what do you think?

there should be somewhat 3+ gods to be tackled in the main myth cabin. zeus would be the final boss, aphrodite coming in second cabin wars, and maybe poseidon coming in the first?

one wcg would be about apollo and artemis- the twins! we've discussed this in earlier threads, i believe.

second maybe could be hera and dionysus?? both would be relatively not-bossy to turn, as dionysus has nothing against athena I think, and hera doesn't really like ares that much

thirds perhaps demeter and hephaestus? demeter's relatively neutral-ish with athena, and hephaestus is chill!

hey guys, i'm super tired from this week of school <3 i can't do any work on the thumb tonight, but i promise i can get it done tmr night? if we could push it back a day? I still REALLY want to do it but i'm really burnt out at the moment <3 i can do it tmr however <3

also sage the project covers are in the wrong dimensions too <3 I can remake that in the same style in the right dimensions if you want? also I can do it so it doesn't look like the thumb?
