Self-explanatory,I want Cat Blocks as a temporary option for april fools,I hate the fact cat blocks weren't in the april fools 2024,so they should add it as a temporary option,only on april fools.

I don't think so. The Scratch Team has brought them back in previous April Fools' Days — just not in 2024. Depending on how things go, it could be brought back in a future April Fools' Day event.

I think the temporary option for April Fools should really last two days, because of timezones. Some countries will get April Fools a day after EST, but residents can't enjoy Cat Blocks, since the update is already gone, and they didn't turn it on the day before because it simply wasn't April Fools for them and wouldn't make sense. Some countries will experience April Fools earlier than EST, but similarly can't enjoy it on time.

Alternatively, it could simply be tuned in to users' timezones, Scratch already sometimes switches on local time for forum posts so they know how to do it.

This is probably the best option- and it's easier to do than you might think (JavaScript has a built-in object just for telling time, called Date. Among its properties is one that will tell you what time it is, according to the system clock). The semicolon glitch is already hard-coded into the website- set your system clock to April 1st and you'll see it at the bottom of pages.

If they did it on April fools what happens the day after? It and all the projects have to go

I mean, why can't they just hardcode it so that it always happens when the system's time is set to April Fools?

or how about optional? you can enable it in the editor settings dropdown (and this is for another day but accent colours in scratch would be kinda cool too)

cat blocks are just the current hat blocks with different visuals:

when green flag clicked :: cat

they get changed back to normal after April Fools Day, so this wouldn't be a problem.

Yes for some reason I didn't think of it but then they'd have to do a reboot to scratch to get rid of it and it's just not helping kids learn to code

no, they won't need to reboot scratch. all they need to do is disable the code for the cat blocks.
also, not every feature needs to be about helping kids learn to code
