OOO I love that! What if like there are a variety of challenges and campers can chose which ones to complete (when they are originally at Shiz)? So that way the storyline isn't entirely dependent on completing specific things and instead the campers can chose which challenges they want to complete? Like some of the medium-level challenges give them an animal ally but bigger challenges give them like something they can use to help them on the yellow brick road or against the wizard? (if this makes no sense or would be too ambitious feel free to shoot it down sdklfj)
And I feel like it might be fun to have some co-leaders run some animal accounts? Maybe? I always love when campers can interact with characters inside the storyline!

And as the first month of cabin planning wraps up, here's a quick recap of all the things we've discussed! I'm so so happy with how far we've gotten already in this past week(ish!), and can't wait to see Fantasy take shape in February and into March <3 Seriously, you guys are the best and I feel so lucky to have you on this team <33333

Required Setup

We agreed on our cabin atmosphere and decided on our symbol- I sent both in to Robin!
Cabin colors were also sent to CJ on the forum!
Created our cabin- you can see a possible format for the desc 2 posts above if you'd like to look at it- we still aren't sure who is writing the intro but if either of you want to feel free to just tell me <3

Cabin Promo

Created a stunning welcome poster that really gives the vibes of our cabin!
Brought up possibly doing a more animation heavy one and doing a cover- again see 2 posts up to look at specific details for that <3
That should probably be released by at least February 5th so I'd love to get some work done on that this week!

WCG

We decided on having our own word count groups, and I believe they are going to be the following locations:
Mildred: Library
River: The Study (?)
Kiara: The Gardens

Cabin Merch

Mildred: Pfps (background or person? I don't think we've decided yet)
River: Pfps (Haven't decided background or person yet)
Kiara: Signatures
We still have to think about banners- do either of you want to do them?
And we can probably collaborate on an aesthetic set!!

Storyline

First 2 Weeks: Shiz University (I had some ideas for what we could possibly do for challenges- full details are 3 posts above <3)
Week 3: Yellow Brick Road! (Probably a challenge here <3)
Week 4: Meet the Wizard and final showdown

We also discussed the idea of the campers gathering some animal friends along the way- though we hadn't decided yet whether they would be figments of the storyline or (co)leaders (my thoughts 3 posts above)

Also I was re-reading some old posts more in-depth and you said this River which I thought would be really interesting to like build upon perhaps in storyline challenges- there could maybe be a challenge for each class or something as their multiple challenges theme???

perhaps there are two types of challenges: animal challenges and spell challenges. the animal challenges are more difficult and collaborative, and there is a set number of them “available”, but spell challenges are easier (so more active campers can do more of them if they'd like) and help somehow in the final battle or on the yellow brick road. the campers could learn about the spells in class? thoughts <3

I'd be fine with you doing the background for pfps! I was actually planning on asking if I could do the people, so that works great!

with that being said, could you guys send a picture of your personas for this session (perhaps in the Canva?) so I can draw it? it can be a quick sketch or you could create it in an avatar creator! Since Shiz has a uniform, I believe we won't have set outfits? I'll draw some set expressions once I can!

also, speaking of cabin merch, what would the project for campers to order cabin merch be called? do we also want to make an aesthetic set for the cabin?

That’s completley fine— I’m thinking of doing For Good maybe? I think there is a little solo (maybe it’s originally cello I’m not good at instruments dlksfj but I’m sure there’s a viola/piano adaptation somewhere ahaha) at the beginning that maybe you could do? But I’m thinking of mixing it all on Garageband anyways so if you just want to do a small bit I can fs edit it in and then switch into a track! Just let me know what you want to do and we can make it happen <3

OOO I LOVE THAT OMG
So what if when campers complete a spell challenge they unlock mastery of that specific spell, and each spell does something slightly different and can help them in the final battle? (Like an ‘unlock door spell’ and a ‘stealth spell’ or something? And it helps them from having to complete as many challenges at the end if they use it?) Or maybe that’s too complicated sdlkfj— what do you guys think?

I’d love love love love to do For Good! Could you perhaps give it a listen (if you haven’t already) and let me know which part (Elphaba or Galinda) fits your voice better? I’d say both parts are comfortably in my range so I don’t really have a preference <3

cabin intro
As you walk through the ornate gates, dizziness sweeps over you at the first sight of your new university. Shimmering gold arches and elegant towers soar over you, and statues and plaques of the illustrious Wizard beckon from every corner. Framed on the walls are portraits of the most accomplished alumni, each one painted in the style of your brand-new enrollment card. You reach the quad, still slightly dizzy, and gasp at the sight of all the people — and a few Animals, too — milling about in clusters. You notice, too, that every Animal professor is treated with a wide berth; you frown slightly but dismiss your concerns. It's your first day, after all!
Three precise claps thunder through the quad, and everyone is silenced immediately, filing swiftly into neat lines while you do your best to follow along. The choir begins to sing the school song, and you're filled with bubbling happiness; you're finally starting Shiz University, and you're so delighted you could melt.
As the last notes of the choir dies down, the most imposing of the three professors steps forward. Her cloak, covered in intricate runes and symbols, billows around her as she begins to speak.
“Greetings, students, new and old. I am Kiara, Head Shizstress. This is River and Mildred.” Her expression softens slightly from the steel it was before.
“And on behalf of all of us, Welcome to Shiz.”

hmm okay so maybe each challenge is for one spell, and then at the final battle, Animal assistance (harder + more collaborative challenges) is more useful than a spell, but each spell has its own use (i love the sound of an unlock door spell) so campers are still encouraged to complete spell challenges

Ooo yeah! For spells, here are some ideas, feel free to throw more out there and then we can compile a full list and cut it down if we need to:
- Unlock a door
- Levitation (since it was mentioned in the Wicked movie maybe it would be fun to include?)
- Flying (this one would probably be harder to get, especially as it revolves around the plotline of wicked so closely)
- Weather Spells (we can make several more specific ones, this is just a broad title)

I don't think there are specific staff uniforms! Maybe we could use the same base as the student uniforms but have our uniforms be different colors to match what we're teaching or something? (Like I could do green, you could do more tan/brownish for history professor, etc)?? Ofc both of you guys could chose whatever colors you want but I thought that might be fun?

Once we finalize the border and thumb, I can put the studio together! What do we think of the current last thumb in the Canva? (If there are any changes anybody wants made feel free to make them <3)

list so far:
- unlock door
- levitation / flying (i think these are kind of the same in the movie — what happens at the end is just a stronger version of what elphaba's been practicing)
- weather spells — tornadoes feature prominently, and i think lightning is always fun in fantasy
- some sort of speed spell? it seems useful for traveling along the yellow brick road

Also two questions!
1. I think it would be really fun to have one of us also run an animal account (in addition to the (co)leaders that might be?) and have that like be our mascot for this session— thoughts and ideas?
2. When do we want the campers to be like “contacted” about the rebellion? Like is this something they know about from the start and that I should include in the promo or something they learn when they get to the cabin?
