why do cloud varibles not work?

i have been trying to make a cloud gam,e for a few weeks now and 2 weeks ago for some reason all the scratch cloud games stopped working. can someone pls explain

Cloud variables are currently broken, and all we can do is wait for them to be fixed.
Unfortunately, no one seems to know what's causing issues or when they will be fixed.
This affects everyone on Scratch, so the Scratch Team is aware of the situation.

I severely dislike not only the fact that the cloud variables are down but also the fact that we have no idea when they will be fixed, and the fact that we have no idea if the scratch team is even attempting to fix the problem or if it even will be fixed in the first place. I fear that we all will have to wait years to be able to play and create multi-player games again. I fear that this problem will never be fixed and scratch will die out as a whole and everyone will emigrate to other, more complicated and difficult programming languages. I fear that this cloud variable shortage will cause some sort of riot, or even a purge. In all, I do sincerely hope that the scratch team is trying to fix this problem and I do also hope that it does not take terrifyingly long to fix, and I absolutely hope that it never happens again.

the servers for cloud variables are down right now and have been for a while, which is why cloud variables don't work

I heard that recently the servers that scratch use for cloud variables have started to have ping, though they still dont work due to that fact that they return 504 gateway timeout errors
