There are plenty of Scratch accounts that share the same IP address, primarily in schools. The Scratch Team uses people using the report button to catch misbehaving users, and since it's against the rules to ban evade, a way to directly report a user for doing so would be helpful.

Also, you're not supposed to report projects or comments if the person who created them is ban evading, even if there is nothing wrong with the project. There is a report button on users' profile pages; this suggestion is about expanding the options that you can report someone for there.

Support, ban evading is a major problem on Scratch and this should help deal with it better.

Support, it's hard to report offending accounts when there are only options for half the valid reasons

I support this suggestion, but there's something else you could add to make it even better:

A system of showing proof. The Scratch Team cannot take action based on someone's word, without any proof. Screenshots can be easily faked using Inspect Element and another little known tool I use to change the colour of websites or change fonts temporarily and only on my screen. And extremely skilled photo editing.

Linking to comments isn't really a thing, it's only there if they say it on your project or profile.

Because there is no way to gain proof completely, you might have to get witnesses. Not to hate on users, but to perhaps show them the comments before it is deleted by the user who commented it or the owner of the project / profile / studio they commented on. This way, these witnesses can tell the ST that they've seen the comments.

Having an account banned for having the password shared, for example, is an exception to ban evading, so it’s important if the ST checks if that was the reason that the account was banned.

maybe, but you have to admit it makes quite a lot more sense to directly report it.

I think another exception to ban evading should be using an alt to say that you’re banned on your profile comments, and then stop using it after that, because currently there’s no good way to tell people that you’re banned on Scratch, on Scratch, without ban evading.

im sorry, i dont give support because:
1. peopel can change
2. sometimes, tempbans are given for no reason and they last like a month or smth like that
3. ip bans are given for other ppls on our network, so we have to make a new acc with a vpn (happened to me until our router got changed)
4. in general, the concept of ban evading has a positive light in my eyes
5. “spam” remix chains should not be a punishable offense, and ban evading fixes that

in that, very specific case then you should contact ST

but i generally see ban evading in a positive light, unless it is misused liek this (very rare)


also, _rises accounts should be allowed

I think there should just be a project-style list of reasons for reporting a user, though not including as many options. I'd think just something like this:
- This user's profile page is innapropriate
Clicking on that gives you the list of options we have currently: name, pfp, about me, wiwo.
- This account breaks the commmunity guidelines (should be worded better but I don't want to do that myself)
Clicking on that opens this list:
> This account has been hacked
> This account's password is shared
> This account is being used to evade a ban
> This account is being used to manipulate statistics (increase loves or followers etc)
> This account is abusing teacher / educator privileges
> This account's forum signature is innapropriate
> This account is cyberattacking the website (this one's gonna get misused a ton if it's added, I'm sure)
> This account has made projects / comments / posts that are innapropriate (this is included for realism, because you know ST's gonna add a dummy report option that just tells you to do something else, just like the “I don't like this project” report)
