My friend broke bitmap???

So my friend was on his Dynabook at school and he was drawing in bitmap. He used the circle tool. AND IT MADE A VECTOR CIRCLE???
By “vector circle” I mean:
- It wasn’t pixelated
- He could move and resize it without selecting it
- It moved independently without moving the stuff behind it
This is super weird… like idk how this even happened

ok I don't get the “He could move and resize it without selecting it” part cause how do you resize or move parts without selecting it????

he probably was in vector.

I meant he could just click-and-drag it, he didn’t have to use the bitmap selection tool.

He was not, he had been drawing in bitmap for like 5 minutes and then used the circle tool.

sometimes bitmap does that, if you switch off the costume and switch back then it will either turn into a normal circle or disappear

My friend broke bitmap???

here's a way to consistently do it:
draw a shape in bitmap
switch to select
undo
(if your shape disappears, undo/redo until it appears)

꒰ Yup, this happens to me a lot.
꒰ How to solve: Copy the circle or whatever vector shape you made in bitmap, click out of the costume, then go back into the costume, you will see that the circle has disappeared. Then simply paste the circle, and it will become bitmap!

Things I've seen this happening with: shapes, text.

when you click out of the circle then, it will become pixelated.
so, it's not a bug.

Bitmap shapes (both ellipses and rectangles) are vector until you stop selecting them, at which point they are rasterized to bitmap.

This is actually an easier way of doing this than handling individual pixels.

This isn't a bug.

After he deselected it, it still looked and acted like a vector circle

That's weird… and that would be a bug
