Sorry, but no support. Because what if someone blocks and reports a user, now the user cant see their comments anymore, meaning they cant report their comments anymore. Leading for them to keep being mean to other scratchers.

Wait, i have a solution! What if when you block a user, their comments say “this user is blocked, reveal comment?” And if you press “yes”. You see the comment. Instead of completely deleting them.

Well if you report them in the first place I feel like they already have the status of being reported, and reporting them further won't do much

I dont understand why this discussion is going on for 6 years though. Isn't this just a beneficial feature that has no drawbacks? Has the Scratch team explicitly stated whether they are willing to impliment this, not willing to, or are awaiting further suggestions? Because if they are waiting further suggestions for this featue, shouldn't they add it first?

can we all please stop bumping this, this conversation is going nowhere, and every time someone suggests a solution it's the same thing as some from like last week had already suggested. Just please stop guys. I hate getting notifications for this.

True, because, IT MAY will continue the chaos

blocking users makes them no one feel nice and others will still be able to see it- and that way, you won't be able to report or delete any comments that they make, or see anything important.

It was in Scratch 1.4, but the Scratch Team removed it, because, it will rare solve problems

Idrc, if I’ve been harassed by someone for over a year and me and several other people reported all their mean comments (and used contact us) I should have a right to block them at that point for my own mental health.

Tbh, to contact Scratch Team is a good idea to make the community safety

Real quick:
what about making it so the blocked user's comments / actions (remixing, hearting, staring, inviting you to/ promoting you in studios, etc) dont ping/message you? and the blocked user's comments would be hidden, but the user who blocked them would see smtn like “Message hidden due to user being blocked,” in its place, and in that same message an option to “show anyway?”, or something else of the sort.
The message could still be reported if the comment is bad/ against CG, the blocked can still comment, so they aren't being removed fully ^^ and they wouldn't need to be reported to st/ do something truly bad/ against CG to be blocked, (maybe the initial blocking of a user could message St? but idk) but that would mean if someone managed to upset or irritate someone (with or without breaking guidelines), the user can block them and have their messages hidden behind a prompt if you do not wish to view it ^^ but content of message could still be viewed if the original user is curious or actually wants to see it,etc.
To remove blocked users maybe have it as an area in “account settings” ^^

blocking a user would be good such as this example.

user1: your stupid! (please mind my bad grammer)

now, user1 is being mean to user2. user2 has a chance to block him. that way, user1 wont bother him anymore. but i think there should be a way to unblock somebody. such as

user1: hello

and user2 acidentaly blocked him. now he can UNblock him. blocking should be just to cut off all comunications with them. they wouldnt be able to talk to each other anyways ill probebly edit this later
