So basically here’s context

CONTEXT:

Gorilla tag is a vr game which you use your arms to move around, it has multiple game modes with the two most known ones being the tag game mode (basically a person is chosen to be a lava monkey and convert everyone else to lava monkeys)

And the second most known game mode being casual
(There is no special features and there is no tag you can just talk and mess around with people)

But for some reason this game has a group of people/Modders (people who use like mods to cheat, troll or mess around)
They are usually called gorilla tag Ghosts

Which has lead to another group called gorilla tag ghost hunters (people who search for these Modders/ghosts

So if anyone who has the game and has encountered a ghost can you talk about your experience with them here because I’m really curious to learn of others experiences.

So I have made a category of ghosts which I will be following for ghosts

Tier 1 ghosts, basically players who aren’t Modders pretending to be famous gorilla tag ghosts

Tier 2 ghosts, these are called warning bots, they usually play audio which is an ai saying that
“_______ is coming to this sever and will ban everyone leave now”

Tier 3 ghosts, these are Modders that are just silly billies and mean no harm to regular players and just mess around
(aka playing random music that’s not spooky, using a audio board and being friendly)

Tier 4 ghosts, these are a Mixture of tier 3 and tier 1 ghosts they pretend to be famous Modders but really never do actually damage or try to attack players sometimes they are more silly then trying to be real, sometimes the opposite it just depends

Tier 5 ghosts, real ghosts, these guys mean harm and will try and scary players, worst case scenario they crash the players of the sever, ban someone or kick someone

(These tiers will be updated if I encounter a new type of ghost so their may be subclasses idk)

I really hope people share their stories about gorilla tag ghosts though

SUBCLASSES OF GHOSTS

Tier 5.5 ghosts, these are real ghosts that are friendly (this subclass was added when I learned of echo and how they act)

Tier 5.6 ghosts, they are regular ghosts but they have no name

Tier 5.7 ghosts, they are like tier 5.6 but instead their name changes

Tier 2.1 ghosts, they are warning bots but instead of trying to scare people they do dances to songs that they play

Certain codes you can use to find gorilla tag ghosts (the ones I use) are, “666”, “ghost” and “pbbv”

Anyways I’m going to start talking about my own ghost encounter with a tier 4 tier 5.5 ghost

So here’s what happened:

I was in the code “666” (a code used to find ghosts)

and mostly nothing was happening so far we had a couple of encounters with a couple of tier 1 ghosts, and I wasn’t really expecting to see anything real but all of a sudden I start hearing this creepy music and boom a tier 4 ghost

(I’ll explain why this was a tier 4 ghost later)

This ghost was a blue gorilla, had a blue hat and had the name echo. Me and the rest of the players in the sever were shocked due to this ghost teleporting

(It wasn’t that big of teleporting, they would walk in certain directions and teleport forward then they would stop and teleport to somewhere else)


So we started following it and we were shocked at it, but after a while we realised it wasn’t really doing anything else but moving and teleporting in basically the same places

(That’s why it was a tier 4 ghost, it also is impersonating a famous ghost called echo false due to this being very more like the real echo

I didn’t do anything else but walk and teleport and play that same creepy music (I now know it was called run rabbit), no flying, no teleporting to players, nothing.
It was like it was a bot programmed to do that. Then either I left or it left because I don’t remember what happened to it really

I have learned this is normal for echo to do and

I have encountered a tier 2 ghost, a warning bot

So what happened?

I was playing in the code “666” in attempts to find a new ghost to add to my gTag ghost list.
I was playing in it for a while but I didn’t see anything.
Until we started hearing the warning bot voice
And boom then me and the other players saw it, a warning bot was in tutorial

(when you start the game there is a tutorial area, once you have completed the tutorial you can jump out of a hole in the wall and go into a public sever, in the forest area you can see that same hole.)

So the warning bot started flying around proving it was a modder, but the funniest thing happened we were in the new limited time game mode guardian

(In this gamemode there is a floating eye and once someone touches its eyeball enough they get to become a giant)

All of a sudden our guardian just jumps up a grabs him and just throws him around,
After this he just continues flying around, eventually we move to the snowy and icy area (I think it’s called mountains) and then he starts playing the iconic daisyo9 music
(Daisyo9 is a famous ghost in the gorilla tag community who has been around for ages)
Then he starts playing screaming sounds with music and flying, He also runs at players but does nothing to them,

eventually I notice some players going into a new code probably to look for a more recent ghost that I haven’t heard of
But one of the players forgets the code so I go help them because i heard what code it was.
Then the player got me to go into that code aswell, so then I had to find their friends and bring them to them,

after we found them I went to go back into code “666” but it wouldn’t let me join so I just went into code “ghost

Characteristics of the real Echo

• 1 blue color
  2 blue hat
  3 long arms
  4 moves around normally (walking)
  

Echo is a passive (not immediately hostile to normal players) ghost.
There are ways to make Echo hostile
These include:

• Annoying Echo
  Looking at her for too long (Not quite sure if this is true)
  If a player is named “PBBV” (I believe there is another name that makes her hostile)
  

If Echo is hostile then she will start chasing the person who made her hostile
When chasing a player they will play a song
The lyrics are (I have kinda forgotten them) “Run rabbit” repeated
If you wish to know more about other ghosts then just ask me

Anyways have you ever met a ghost, if so which one and can you tell me your experience? Or can you tell me about an ghost that isn’t well know?

Anyways have you ever met a ghost, if so which one and can you tell me your experience? Or can you tell me about an ghost that isn’t well know?

Answer 1: Echo tends to walk around forest/near the pavilion
Answer 2: I dont quite know what annoys Echo but things like yelling/being loud near Echo, being in Echos face, and insulting (I think) Echo can annoy her
Answer 3: Ive met quite a few ghosts that have seemed very legit
Answer 4: Some ghosts I dont see talked about alot are nameless ghosts (They appear on the playerlist but dont have a name)

Due to them not having a name they can be quite unpredictable
They can generally be found in any code another ghost can be found in as well as be found in basically any map
One small extra thing: There is another type of ghost kinda like this
Instead of having no name their name changes
Sometimes they use this to speak and sometimes it changes randomly (Name quickly changing to random characters or phrases)

But yea i have mods and i can tell you that you cannot get banned by modders. You CAN get banned by them if you join their party, and then they activate a mod that sends you to code KKK but many times this doesn't even work. In attic they can crash you too. When stuff like kick/mute/freeze/crash guns appear they get patched fast

Suggestion if you want to go ghost hunting and upload it to some video site,

1, remember to record
2, play in the morning or night due to ghosts/Modders being around at that time
3, use a known ghost code because Modders will eventually appear in them
4, if you see a warning bot make sure it actually has mods due to their “warning” being an available sound on a sound board
5, if you see a ghost find it but keep distance because you don’t know what it can do yet aka sending you to another code

Hey I think I recently met one of these name changer ghosts, it was in code 666 and it was changing its name to other people’s names in the code. It even changed its name to my name for a couple of seconds

From my experience and in my opinion rituals are a bad way to find ghosts, because

1, ghost and Modders are players or bots in the game not added features,
2, if the sever is full then the “ghost” can’t join and other people may look for other other people to leave the code,
3, for me ghosts usually do not appear in random codes and only “ghost” codes


But a good way to find ghosts is going into a ghost code and waiting

CRAZIEST GHOST/MODDER THING I JUST SAW

Ok so a couple minutes ago I was in the code “ghost” looking to see if I could record some ghosts “even though I have no where to upload them”
And all I was with these “ghost” hunters and we were going to mess around with Lucy
Lucy is the name given to a gTag feature in the area of the Og cave, basically there’s a vase in the Og caves and when you rub it you summon a skeleton that will throw you out of Og caves, then the skeleton got the name Lucy. IT IS A MECHANIC OF GTAG NOT SOMEONES NAME “I’m saying this so people don’t take this out of context and report this”

Before this we had some sound board players and emote bots (basically a sub class of warning bots that play songs and have emotes) and we even saw a modder that was just trying to scare people,

So anyways all of a sudden we hear people like screaming about a ghost so we run out of Og caves and back to stump, then we ask a white coloured player where the ghost is and he said canyons, so we went to canyons and we saw it.

This modder by the name of “blood666” was there, he did the normal stuff, ( T posing, flying, teleporting, soundboard ) but there was one thing that I have never seen before. He was some how making all the ropes in canyons shake around, and it wasn’t just like them just slowly moving.. no… THEY WERE LIKE SOME CRAZY ANIMAL, the long ropes I think were even going through some of the high grounds in canyons. And I definitely know it was him because sometimes he would hold his hand out and the ropes would just point towards him as if he were some magnet
Some players were even joking about how he was using the force

This is by far one of the most unique things I have seen a modder do
