What do you want to be?: An Animator
How much experience do you have in that? Could you show some examples? (links):
Are you confident in getting accepted? Why: I'm a animator who could be a good fit.
I also consent to be in the movie.

(#342)Hm… you're very good at animating things smooth, but each animation of yours is like 5 seconds long each until “the end” or the outro. You're hired, but the movie, is a movie, so it's gonna be longer than that.

Scratch Movie: Quest for Bugs
(#347)you can either brainstorm some ideas or advertise the movie so more people know about it. if you're giving links, give them the studio link. that will make people have to consciously click on the forum topic (that's one more click!) which will make it so tons of people aren't bombarding us with offtopic stuff or stuff like that and do that in the studio instead.
What should I be doing right now?

Scratch Movie: Quest for Bugs
okay guys so i kinda finished with the script thing, but it's really scuffed and has tons of gaps. writers, please ensure consistency and fix anything wrong:
Scratch Cat wakes up in the Editor Lab.
Scratch Cat: I can't wait to go with Gobo and the others to the studio mall's costume library!
Scratch Cat goes to the Studio Mall with gobo.
As SCRATCH CAT and GOBO begin to walk to the Costume Library, the Block Shop shows in the background with a banner over it saying “Temporarily Closed”, but neither SCRATCH CAT nor GOBO notices and it is not meant to stand out in the scene. Note: This does (as the plot of the movie suggests) play a large role later in the movie.
SCRATCH CAT and GOBO reach the Costume Library.
NANO: Hi! The others are waiting for us over there, in the Fantasy section. I was just headed over there now. Come on!
SCRATCH CAT: I don't really enjoy fantasy books, but okay. Note: This is a reference to how Scratch Cat is not located in the Fantasy section of Scratch's costume library.
SCRATCH CAT sits down with GOBO, NANO, PICO, and TERA.
Scratch Cat: Pico, I can’t wait to try out this brand new Griffy cereal!
Pico: Yeah, I bet it tastes amazing!
Gobo: Me too!
NANO: Where's Giga? She said she'd be here by now.
TERA: I have no idea.
GIGA comes over and sits down at the table with the others.
GIGA: Sorry, I almost forgot that we were coming to the Costume Library today!
PICO: You're the one who invited everybody! How could you forget?
GIGA: Oh right, I did invite everyone. Why were we meeting here again?
PICO: I don't know; you're the one who invited us.
GIGA shrugs.
SCRATCH CAT: If you invited us here for no reason, I'm going to go check out a book.
SCRATCH CAT walks over to the Coding section and picks out a book. A small bug skitters near where SCRATCH CAT got the book from, but SCRATCH CAT does not see it. SCRATCH CAT checks out the book and sits down again in the Fantasy section. The others are looking for a book to read. SCRATCH CAT starts reading his book.
PICO spots a bug on the floor and stomps on it. Then he turns his attention back to the bookshelf to continue searching for a book.
Scratch Cat: Hey, what the? “Scratch News”? I have quite literally never seen this stall before. Ah well, worth a shot.
Gobo: Yeah. For all we know, we might’ve stumbled upon the best source of tutorials!
Griffpatch (offscreen): Hey!
Gobo: Okay, second best.
Scratch Cat (reading the newspapers): “New bug on the loose”? “Bug eats blocks?” “CODERS ADVISED TO STOP CODING UNTIL THE BUG HAS BEEN FIXED”!? This is a major issue, Gobo!
Gobo: To you it is, to me it’s just a Wednesday.
Scratch Cat: It’s a Thursday.
GOBO: I know.
(gap)
The group is walking down a sidewalk.
SCRATCH CAT: Woah, I don't remember that being there! (SCRATCH CAT points to a medium-sized crack in the ground next to the sidewalk. The group keeps walking, but the camera does not follow them and instead stays focused on the crack. The crack expands, emitting a red-ish glow. The scene cuts to the group again.)
(gap)
This scene takes place much later in the movie, closer to the climax but not quite at the climax.
PICO: Hey, isn't that the crack from earlier?
GIGA: Yeah, it probably is. Why do you ask?
PICO: It looks… bigger than before.
SCRATCH CAT: Oh yeah, it kinda does. And it has kind of a reddish glow in it.
The crack expands.
TERA: Is it just me, or did the crack just get bigger?
NANO: It definitely got bigger.
The crack expands more, much faster now, in all directions, about to create large canyons.
GOBO: RUN!!
The group runs down the sidewalk away from the crack. It grows bigger much faster now, creating large canyons, devouring everything in its path. The group runs through all the main areas of Scratch - Editor Lab, Studio Mall, Project Islands, etc.
Tera trips on a link at the bottom of a page and starts to fall into a newly created canyon.
GIGA: I got you! (GIGA catches TERA's leg, nearly falling with her. The others grab GIGA, with SCRATCH CAT at the top. He hangs on to the donate link. TERA takes a CHANGE Y BY (10) block out of her pocket and tries to tap it, but she drops it, and it falls. SCRATCH CAT's fingers slip, and all six fall.
ALL: AAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!
Dramatic music that has been playing in the background gets much louder (I don't know music terms) as the group falls into the dark fog in the canyon. Everything fades to black.
(big gap here with tons of stuff missing, including when they meet kaj and other stuff, it is the job of the writers to fill in the gaps)
PICO: I have an idea! I heard cat blocks have super cool powers! We can build a weapon with them!
SCRATCH CAT: Too bad they only appear on April Fool's Day And someone could just uninstall the browser extension that gives back cat blocks.
PICO: I know, but we can use the forums. They have a scratchblocks plugin!
SCRATCH CAT: I almost forgot about it! They can make cat blocks! LET'S GO MASCOTS!!
The mascots run to the Topic Creation Land
SCRATCH CAT: Look! There it is!
The mascots keep getting creative with their favorite colors. After each version is done, they click the green checkmark to preview their work
EVERYONE EXCEPT SCRATCH CAT: WOW! LET'S USE IT!
SCRATCH CAT: Okay!
They take the hammer from the preview.
SCRATCH CAT: YAY! Let's store it for now.
insert stop detection script here
NANO: Ready, guys? Let's defeat Kaj!
The camera switches to the banlands. Kaj looks at the Banlands News. There was a news article saying “The six Scratch mascots have a spiked axe now”
KAJ: WHAT?!?! THEY HAVE A WEAPON?!?!
Kaj clicks on the news article and reads half of the stuff in the article.
KAJ: HAHAHAHA!!! THEY GOT IT FROM THE FORUMS WITH THE HELP OF A PLUGIN!!! I COULD CLICK CANCEL!!!
The camera switches back to Scratchtopia
SCRATCH CAT: *gasps* I FORGOT TO CLICK SUBMIT!!!! I HAVE TO GET THERE BEFORE KAJ!!!!
GIGA: STOP! We don't have time!
GOBO: I know! We can take a photo and upload it to the Editor Lab! *takes a photo of the axe. the photo gets printed behind Gobo's camera*
PICO: The picture! Let's import it!
Pico runs to the Editor Lab. He drops the picture in a ballot box. The photo shooted out of the ballot box towards Pico's hand as if the picture yeeted itself. The axe appeared and became a sprite, just floating on the Stage Table, and even on the Sprite List Sign. Pico clicked Save and took the axe's sprite counterpart (The ballot box was really for importing sprites)
The camera switches to Scratch Kaj running for the Cancel button in the Forums HQ. After a few seconds, Scratch Kaj arrives at the Topic Creation Land and clicks the Cancel button. Scratch Kaj laughs. He did not know that the six mascots had a sprite version of the axe.
SCRATCH KAJ: YES! NOW THE REAL SCRATCH CAT WILL HAVE NO WEAPON TO ATTACK ME!!!
Scratch Kaj runs back to the Banlands and turns back into normal Kaj.
SCRATCH CAT: GUYS LOOK!
Piece by piece, the axe burns into ash and the ash fades away.
PICO: It's deleting! That's why we have that backup axe! Like my idea, eh? *winks*
A bunch of bugs start spewing out from everywhere, nearing the group.
NANO: We're getting overwhelmed! We need a better way to fend off the bugs!
PICO: They've gotten to the Project Sea! We have to stop them from getting to any of the Project Islands!
A new Project Island rises right where the bugs are.
GIGA: Oh no!
SCRATCH CAT: Don't worry, this is clearly a simple project. There's not many blocks.
A DELETE THIS CLONE block slides off the Project Island and hits a few of the bugs. The bugs that it hits disappears.
SCRATCH CAT: The bugs… they're clones! That gives me an idea!
SCRATCH CAT picks up the DELETE THIS CLONE block and takes a few more blocks from the Project Island. He takes the DELETE THIS CLONE block's sprite icon out of the Project Island and puts this script in the icon:
TERA: What happened??
GOBO The clone limit's been reached! The bugs are getting cloned faster than we can get rid of them!
GIGA: Let's not jump to conclusions. There's clearly WAY more bug clones than 300, and there has been for a while now. Besides, I bet Scratchy's already fixing it!
SCRATCH CAT: (Digging through the Project Island with the DELETE THIS CLONE block's sprite icon open beside him, the REPEAT UNTIL <TOUCHING (BUG)> and MOVE () STEPS blocks removed from the script inside it) Please don't call me that. (this part needs a continuation)
The group is observing Kaj from afar in the Banlands, trying to figure out how to stop him.
Nano: What's that thing that Kaj is holding?
Everyone looks at the item in Kaj's hand. A nearby erupting volcano spews out a large chunk of ash. Kaj points the strange object at the chunk of ash.
The chunk of ash stops in midair. Everyone gasps.
Pico: It's the stop sign!!
Giga: How… how will we stop ourselves from
getting s… stopped?
All are silent for a moment, thinking about how to prevent themselves from getting stopped.
Scratch Cat: I've got it!
Gobo: What's your idea?
Scratch Cat: We use stop detectors!
Tera: We use what?
Scratch Cat: I saw a tutorial for them in that book I got when we went to the Costume Library. They can detect when they're stopped. We might
be able to figure out how to use them to prevent ourselves from being stopped.
Nano: That's a great idea! Where will we get the
blocks to make them?
Gobo: There's a pile of blocks over there. (Gobo points to a large pile of blocks across a wasteland.) We could use those!
Pico: But… how are we going to get there without getting caught?

Scratch Movie: Quest for Bugs
Thanks! Though I'm not sure who I'd play. I think I could do a pretty good job with a comedic villain though.Your voice is better. -yo, i like to snip quotes- (same here)
Thank you!Q1: What do you want to be?Wow, this is genuinely amazing! I like your style and how you make fully structured songs. Most of our team already makes banger songs but they're no longer than 30 seconds most of the time. And you seem pretty good at motifs, so I'll let you make one for this.
Composer (and maybe VA)
Q2: How much experience do you have in that? Could you show some examples? (links)
Quite experienced as a composer, I've been doing it and developing my style for quite a few years now. I started doing MIDI stuff in 2021 (I've gotten much MUCH better since) and did chiptune stuff for a while, then branched out. Most notable works are probably the Billding Site 2 OST and Do Something Different. Best tracks from both are Final Boss and See You Another Time respectively.
(Bandcamp link)
Voice acting I'm much less experienced but I'll be willing to do it since there's only one VA so far. I'm not too sure what role I'd fit though as I don't think my voice would fit any of the Scratch characters. Normal voice here.
Q3: What makes you think you are good for this role?
I'm really good at creating good melodies and I don't know if the movie already has a main theme/motif but if it doesn't I should be able to create one easy. ALSO please put me on the music for the finale I really enjoy making that stuff. VA'ing I've already said it's mainly because there's only one VA and I want to help
Q4: Are you confident in getting accepted? Why?
I want to help out on this and I think (hope) my stuff's good
Q5: rhombi
Yes, tilted squares
Hired!
So now that I'm around here, how does this work? Do you order a track or should I go off and make whatever I want for the time being?

No, I don't think anyone would do that because you have been on this topic repeatedly, yet both times you have tried to be in the movie, they were declined. I can tell scratchcode1_2_3 doesn't like you very much because of your constant posting on the topic despite not being hired. I consent to be in the movie please?
For people who aren't part in development of the movie, please kindly refrain from posting or disrupting. It is fine if you watch and post your thoughts. To join, the codeword is rhombi.
Please do not quote OP. or any large posts and make sure to snip. There is no consequence to this, but it makes it all less clogged and easier to read.
I know this topic is harsher, and stricter, but it will keep things in order. I'm sorry, but it had to be done due to what happened to the previous topic. As much as I tried, it is unsalvageable.

Scratch Movie: Quest for Bugs
okay guys so i kinda finished with the script thing, but it's really scuffed and has tons of gaps. writers, please ensure consistency and fix anything wrong:
~script snip~
So I read through some of the current script and, even though I'm not a writer for the movie, I would like to give some opinions.
Obviously I know that there are huge gaps in the story so I won't address that. But the dialogue just feels a bit scuffed at times. It's written well, but at the same time, it gives off this feeling of a “perfect superhero team”.
Now, I'm not saying that they need to be these incredibly realistic, deep, and complex characters with riveting and tragic backstories, but it wouldn't really hurt to make some of the dialogue a bit less… direct. And by direct I mean that the characters are basically stating everything they're doing, sometimes in awkward ways.
Take this line from the script, for example:
PICO: It's deleting! That's why we have that backup axe! Like my idea, eh? *winks*
Two flaws that this line has are pretty much almost immediately clear. First of all, Pico is simply stating what is happening and what they have that can deal with the issue without anything that could make the dialogue a bit more realistic in order to fit in better with the story, which already has some decently written and well-written lines.
There's also the rather confusing insertation of humor in this line. The characters are dealing with a serious event, and Pico suddenly starts joking out of nowhere. It also doesn't help that this out-of-place joke basically gets no response from the characters, so this joke couldn't just be chalked up to “out-of-place on purpose”. This isn't a problem with a lot of lines in the script, but this is just an example of how some lines of the script don't fit well with the other surrounding lines.
My main problems with this script so far are just the awkward phrasings and word choices with some of the lines of the script and the way that characters suddenly blurt out their thoughts and ideas in weird or unrealistic ways.
The script isn't bad, obviously, but I do think the dialogue could use some rephrasing and modification.

Scratch Movie: Quest for Bugs
Hello World (draft)
(This plays at the start of the movie, perhaps when Scratch Cat wakes up)
Hopefully this is similar to the vibe you're going for in the movie!
This isn't the main theme or anything, I'll make that later when I think I've come up with something good enough
Also am I allowed to suggest things for the movie in general?
