Have USB controllers added to extensions
Support. I've used an external program for controller support on scratch. The issue with it though, is that it's exclusively a key-map system, which is useable for most projects but doesn't allow for full analog stick support. But with an extension like your idea you can allow potentiometer support, and that allows analog sticks to be truly analog and not just binary button presses. The only issue I could see is with projects exclusively supporting controllers without keyboard in mind, but it's still a good idea.

Support! There's actually an extension in TurboWarp that does exactly that - add enhanced gamepad support beyond key remapping, like adding rumble and joystick support. That being said, you can't actually share any projects made with that to Scratch, so having something similar in vanilla Scratch would be great!

I wonder what this thread is about. are USB controllers compatible with Scratch?
Exactly. The whole idea behind those other extensions was a promo by LEGO. The only other use for it is if you want to use fan-made extensions in ScratchX. Making controller support (with custom mapping probably) would be really amazing, since with multiplayer games, it is hard to map all of the controls to just the keyboard (you can see with my project Dragon Lord - it's only ever easy to play it multiplayer if you have small hands). I'd love to see this in Scratch 3.0 since you can definitely do it with HTML5, and that's what Scratch 3.0 is being made in.

I support! This would make multiplayer games that little bit easier. I'm not sure Nintendo will be on board for their Joy-Cons being compatible with anything else other than the Switch, though.

then what are you doing on this topic?(#2763)Sadly, having official support for Scratch on consoles is rejected on The Official List of Rejected Suggestions.
my idea how the console detecting block is gonna look (not that good)console used :: extension reporter(#2764)Scratch wouldn't handle this, the OS would. If the controller is connected to Windows, Linux or whatever is running, scratch will see it no matter how it's connected.
I think if Scratch were to do this. It would probly be a connect thingy, like wireless head phones. it checks for nearby conmtrollers to connect with, in a 5 yard radius or something
