I see no problem with this suggestion. If you do, you're wrong.

I would assume that this is rejected as an extension of rejecting an offtopic/misc. section of the forums, though I may be wrong.

Whether or not that is the case, I don't think that this is likely to be implemented since text-based games tend to involve a lot of posts coming rapidly, and a number of comments from Scratch Team members have indicated that the forums are already pretty stretched pretty thin with the number of posts they have now (and this was one of the reasons that April Fools' Day was not allowed on the forums this year).

It's worth noting that this used to be on an old list of rejected suggestions, but there is no Scratch Team member rejection post associated with it. It just links to the Scratch Wiki (the link is broken, but it's probably meant to go to https://en.scratch-wiki.info/wiki/Text_Based_Games_Forums ), and nowhere on this page does it state or describe that bringing them back is rejected, unless I missed something after skimming it.

Nonetheless, I'm tempted to agree with @jvvg here. You could just use a studio for text-based games, or use the actual TBG website instead. I'm not sure why there needs to be a dedicated space for it on Scratch.

Whether or not the off topic/misc. rejection applies here, this is at least rejected according to this post.

It is rejected. We have no interest in spending moderation and website resources on something so non-Scratch related.
