Welcome to the hip-hop forum, where you can discuss the most popular music genre in the world and its many subgenres (like rap, trap, G-funk, etc.)

This forum was created with the permission of the Scratch Team after the previous version was shut down because of frequent fights. With that being said here are some rules we should follow to keep this forum nice and enjoyable for everyone:

1. Separate the art from the artist - whether or not a rapper is a good person should NOT be discussed, as almost every rapper in the game has done or been accused of something indecent, and wasting time over this would fill up the forum with pointless arguing. Focus on the music, not the person. Also, more often than not these “deeds” are almost always not allowed to be discussed on Scratch.

2. Accept other people's tastes - calling out someone's favorite rapper is NOT allowed. Friendly debate is allowed obviously, but calling out someone's opinion as “trash”, ESPECIALLY when you haven't thoroughly listened to the rapper's catalogue, just kills the vibe of the forum. As Paddle2See said, “Try to create new fans of things you like instead of destroying fans of things you don't like”

3. Don't discuss politics - rap is the people's way to express their political opinions, but that does NOT mean that we on Scratch have to discuss ours. Talking about the messages of an artist's project is allowed - e.g. discussing how well Kendrick Lamar's music adresses racism in America - but having a 100% political debate is not allowed.

4. Keep it hip-hop only - on the previous forum way too many times we went too deep in other musical genres, with debates about the likes of Olivia Rodrigo and Taylor Swift. This forum is hip-hop specific, if someone wants to make a different forum for other genres no one is stopping them. It's allowed to discuss things like the Grammys which involve hip-hop, but not having conversations and arguments about musical artisrts outside rap.
