one thing i would like to add is ocular seems to take some time to update forum posts, because when i see mine on ocular, the last one is on december 11th and i have had many posts since then Ocular is neat and it works well, but it shuts down often, and it's not always good at finding old topics, but this would work much better for dupe-finding and looking for old forum topics you've created. This would be useful for multiple reasons, like searching for an inactive topic and discussion, or an old forum post that hasn't shown up in the forums.

It isn't?but a gui exists, just go to ones ocular profile also showing exact post count isn't allowedBut this isn’t about finding dupe postsmost st members trust ocular in the guide to finding dupes its mentioned https://scratch-mit-edu.ezproxyberklee.flo.org/discuss/topic/285904/ it also has a secondary signature. why make a gui when one is already here. most forumers know ocular.Your right I don’t have 2763 posts, because that’s just a random example number you don't have 2763 posts, also ocular? just use ocular? why can't ocularnot so random if your a bfdi fan
And i never heard of ocular until you just mentioned it, I googled it and it seems to be a scratch search engine created by scratchers. That isn’t much convientent because many don’t know about it and it’s much better to have a feature in the real website instead of using a tacky external website

But the signature is already used as a forum profile, as it says “Profile saved.” when you save it. So why is this even needed?

It's not a full forum profile, but just a part of it. But the signature is already used as a forum profile, as it says “Profile saved.” when you save it. So why is this even needed?

This promotes the forums more; more people on forums, more forum outages and necroposts and 200,000-character-long spam. Besides, the forums get taken down sometimes to help site performance even though barely anyone uses them.

So I got an idea,
Note: through account settings, you can toggle whether you want your recent forum posts to show there or not. If a user has chose to hide them it will show as “This user has hidden their recent forum posts”
What if we had forum profiles?
Basically, when a user goes on your profile from any link or redirect, they’ll go to your scratch profile. And on the scratch profile, above hour username there will be a link like this
And when you click the link it’ll open your forum profile, the forum profile will look like this
What the forum profile has
- Link to scratch profile
- Username
- Signature
- Scratch join date
- Total forum posts (edit: it will not be approx, it will be a vague number)
- Recent forum posts
QnA
Question:Answer: you don't have 2763 posts
Correct, i do not have 2763 posts. that is an example number if your in the osc, its a bfdi reference too lol
Question:Answer: What about ocular?
While ocular is a useful site, trusted by a few ST members, it's always better to have a feature on the real scratch website.
Za-Chary explained it well:There are obvious benefits to making a feature on Scratch that is already unofficially made by a Scratcher: if the Scratch Team makes it, then more users will trust it, more users will be aware of it, those who have access to Scratch will automatically have access to the feature, etc…. i wanna know if some of my followers use the forums, so support

it is similar to adding discuss to the nav bar This promotes the forums more; more people on forums, more forum outages and necroposts and 200,000-character-long spam. Besides, the forums get taken down sometimes to help site performance even though barely anyone uses them.

People will know about the forums anyway, and new scratcher(s) that just joined won't be able to post in suggestions or other forums until they receive scratcher status after being active in the community, so this doesn't pose a problem. Also, promoting the forums is a good idea because it can be used for feedback on scratch's backend and main website features. Alright, what if forum profiles are only accessible through forums? Like, forum profiles will not be accessible through the scratch profile, they will be accessible by clicking the profile picture of a user when they post a forum post. That usally redirects you to the scratch profile but in this case it will redirect you to the forum profilethe ST rejected bringing back the discuss bar so they obviouslyy hate promoting forumsPeople will know about the forums anyway, and new scratcher(s) that just joined won't be able to post in suggestions or other forums until they receive scratcher status after being active in the community, so this doesn't pose a problem. True, but, that doesn't mean that they can stay hidden so much. Plus, there are links on Scratch News that link the announcements to the announcement topics on the forums, which is little by little, promoting their forums. the ST rejected bringing back the discuss bar so they obviouslyy hate promoting forums
