so basically this will add a layer of moderation. and safety of children, why? trolls can make inappropriate projects. and I think that can put an end to it. if there would be a brief description of the reason its been disapproved, it could be possibly corrected by st.
ps:it would be back in queue when it saves.

Are you referring to the idea that the Scratch Team should manually approve projects before they can be shared? If not, could you describe your suggestion in more detail?

No support. There would be too many projects to check with a small moderation team, and it might take a long while for your project to get approved. Goodbye, accounts that post like, 10 projects a day.

this would rather be a bot. I've edited the title for more context.

You want a neural network?
That isn't something very plausible for the S% right now.

If you are talking about having a bot approve projects, there is one that already does that. However, the current system does not analyze the contents of the project, which would make this a good idea, except that Scratch does not have the server space to do this. This is evident with the recent forums shutdowns, which happened to preserve the main site’s integrity.

i think they want to see the filter preventing projects from being shared if they're inappropriate
i'm actually going to agree. last time i checked, i don't think scratch did filter projects automatically. that said, i do think that the filter should rip into each project (upon being shared), along with projects upon their saving. that way, it can look at what may not be appropriate for scratch
i'm also under the impression that the filter has capability for checking for explicit/nsfl images? if that's the case then that might be a step in the right direction, although i'm not sure that the filter should be considered overly reliable with images for now - after all, it's still not entirely error-prone!

This is WAY too expensive for Scratch, a non-profit organization

By that, you mean links to explicit content or direct explicit content?

What does this have to do with Scratch being non-profit anyways? It's not like non-profits can't be funded with tons of money It also depends entirely on how the bot will approve projects. If it does something similar to the comment filter, that might not as expensive or taxing on whatever servers Scratch has

Yes, I believe the filter is able to check for the first one, atleast sometimes, while it, being a text filter, is obv unable to check for the second

I was thinking the program would scan projects after they were shared, so as not to slow anything down. It would be so frustrating to have to wait to share for example an aesthetic set. And, would you have to wait for the bot every time you saved the project?

it would be when you share it, ST already has access to your unshared projects.
