As said in a few earlier posts by other people, if scratch doesn’t start making more money soon, we can expect to see longer and longer and more frequent server outages. The servers are already starting to bug out. I suggest that making more money should be a TOP priority. I don’t have a specific way to do that, it seems like every suggestion to make more money is shot down with “they can’t they’re non profit”.


I just wanna say that I would absolutely very gladly watch ads to keep this website running.

How do you expect a 13 y.o with less than 25 dollars to donate? I don’t even know where my debit card is, so I couldn’t donate with the little money I have anyways.

Maybe begin to advertise donation on their website like other non-profit. Don’t be too annoying, just a mention below featured project of the main page

You can donate by using Microsoft Reward points, so that's one way. But I feel like they already allow you to donate a big amount depending on how much you've made from a previous job for example.

Idea: make the donate banner appear occasionally when logged in as well as still always appearing when logged out

100% support. Scratch needs to stay well-kept and the ST deserves to have more money to help them with their job for all the work they've done.

yes, you are right, but if we don't even have solid ideas or proposals (as you can see from reading this thread) it isn't actually helping anybody or leading the way to an accepted suggestion

edit:: not disagreeing with making money a priority, but saying support doesn't actually do anything when there is no ideas of how to make it a higher priority

not exactly, the suggestion by itself is telling ST that they should change their current priority (which has been suggested in other ways previously, leading to valid discussion). True-so that this wouldn't actually solve the problem simply through this suggestion itself, but unlike the scratchers, ST does have more information relating to how they might be able to make more money, and thus, this suggestion by changing their focus could contribute to raising more funds.
