Lostwave / Mysterious songs

I think this belongs here, as Lostwave is sort-of a genre and there's no shortages of music genre topics.

Also, I searched using Ocular and couldn't find any other topics, so it's ripe for the taking!

According to YouChat, “Lostwave is a term used to describe music that is often obscure, unknown, or hard to find. It is a genre that consists of music that has been lost or forgotten and then rediscovered by music enthusiasts. Lostwave music often has an air of mystery surrounding it, with little information available about the artist or the origin of the music”. A really good example of Lostwave is “(Like/Blind) the Wind”, which sounds like your average 80's german post-wave song… except - of course - the artist, album or even actual name of the song is unknown.

This is also the opposite of “lost media”, where the name of the media is found but the media itself isn't.

Still waiting for the day when more info for “Everyone Knows That” gets found.
According to one video, I found out that it was used in a commercial for a car brand called Saleen.
It's very ironic that a song which people have decided to call “Everyone Knows That” has very little details known about it.

(very late edit: please disregard this post as EKT has been found)

Everyone, indeed, doesn't know that

“Like the Wind” sounds like a lost a-ha demo song.

I'd like to give some news on a music piece dubbed "Tension Rising in the Air“…
On the original WZS post (linked above), someone by the name of musicfan1994 left this comment very recently:
”A song that was in the searching for 35 years by the op just got named today, so there is hope. This will definitely be found as well, we just need to know where it was taken from. Op isn't responding to us though."
I'm so excited!

Giving some updates here.
I recently found out two things:
The “Saleen commercial” rumor has been confirmed false.
Potential Lead: In a comment of another video which mentions the song, someone had gotten into touch with Deedee Kenniebrew of The Crystals and she mentioned that this was a track from her solo album which never got released due to issues with the label. If this is true, I can't wait for more info to leak about this lead!

Welp, I just found out the Kenniebrew lead was ruled out. :[
I've found two more possible leads however. To quote the Lostwave's Finest wiki page:
“A new theory has said to identify ”Everyone Knows That“, that the band who made it is ”Off Course“, as they're said to sound very similar to the singer of Everyone Knows That.
Another theory is that the singer of “Everyone Knows That” could be Roxette, who has multiple different songs that have an eerily similar melody to EKT, which could suggest that it may have been a demo.”

I was exploring other pages on the Lostwave's Finest wiki. Went on the Fond My Mind page, scrolled to the bottom, and I found this.

As exciting as it sounds, this sentence is unsourced, so where did the editor get this info from?

Doing a singular youtube search, I only found this fan-mix with 300 views. Expanding to google, I found a Reddit post which I shall not link for obvious reasons but the content is something like this:

Reddit post wrote:

[. . .] i contact Sergio , the potencial Vocal on FMM. Asking him if in someway he recognizes the song, he told me the keyboard was very similar to the instrumental of your keyboardist friend Edde Edman , who was already making works similar back in 90s. And he told me will answer me back soon…

Like the screenshots behind.

1° screeshot, My First Contact with Sergio

2° Screenshot / Name from the song and artists behind

3° Screenshot with Edde Soundcloud songs

Today when i came back from work, i got his answer back, confirming the original artist behind FFM was (Edde Edman) and the name of the Song is “Feels Like a wish” and the vocals was from “André”.

We are still looking for more informations about “André” and his portfólio.

Carl92 no longer cares about EKT, so maybe /everyoneknowsthat and co should just give up.

It sounds like something my mom would have listened to when she was younger.

Hi! i find lostwave music very interesting, especially EKT, i heard a theroy that the song is japanese or at the very least the singer is because of theit pronunciation of sheep, do you any of you have any theories of where it came from?

My theory was that it came from a commercial, maybe a fashion or makeup commercial
I've also seen another theory being tossed around that involves it being from MTV Basement Tapes

And what's the name of Edde's Soundcloud profile? I'm intrigued
