NEW idea: brother [sibling] feature in scratch

Great idea but rename them to siblings/relatives.

Why specifically “brothers”? Why not sisters? What about friends?

NEW idea: brother [sibling] feature in scratch

So…
  1. What about sisters?
  2. What would the brotherly block even do?
  3. There's no way netherite could get added only for brothers, since Griffpatch's games are not owned by the ST. And it doesn't make sense.
  4. If you're brothers, can't you just use the same computer to collaborate?
  5. The ST runs off donations, and they have better ways to use their money than to implement ID verification. ID verification is expensive as it requires a third-party.
  6. At least in Romania, children under 14 don't have an ID, which would effectively make this feature useless for young siblings. What would we use then? Passport? Birth certificate?
  7. Can't you just add your brother's link in your about me?

what, so you get rewards for having a sibling? I'm not an only child myself, but if I was I'd be pretty angry that certain scratchers would get rewards just for having a brother or sister and I wouldn't.

Besides, scratch is meant to teach coding, we're not trying to alienate people with no siblings.

Not to mention some people who had one not go in a path that could be good for them, if you get what I mean.
Honestly I think this suggestion has had alot of holes pointed out.

NEW idea: brother [sibling] feature in scratch

Since scratch is an all-ages platform, I think many people have attempted to invite their younger or older brothers to the platform to rack in those sweet sweet likes & favorites together. So I am suggesting scratch adds a feature where you can add a section for your brother.

-snip-

not to mention I'm pretty sure a parent would be willing to sign two siblings up for scratch since it's meant to be educational, so like I said before giving exclusive items to brothers would make only-children feel very left out. Also, like I also said, scratch is meant to teach coding, it's not about how many loves and favourites you get on your project.

Or maybe you could FINALLY unlock netherrite in “Griffpatch”'s iconic hit “Paper Minecraft” if you work with your brother.

Possibly this feature could be expanded on using ID verification to prove that you are really brothers. Or maybe we could add the same sort of system but with sisters instead.

I know scratch is relatively secure, but there's always the chance of a data breach. And I'm pretty sure ID's are included in data breaches, which would be very bad if they were leaked from what's meant to be a trustworthy website for children as young as seven. Besides, I'm not sure I'd be so comfortable giving my ID to a random website just so I can get netherite in paper minecraft.

Speaking of that, and I know others have already said this, but why would they give you netherite in a project not even made by the scratch team if you prove you're brothers? That would just be weird to code, and I'm assuming it wouldn't be visible in the see inside menu because then only childs could get it (oh no we don't want the only childs getting our precious netherite) so I'm assuming it would be hardcoded into scratch's source code. So, they'd somehow have to convert stack blocks into written code, which is basically impossible and if it was, it would take way too long to code in.

I'm not sure the ST would go to such extreme lengths just so they can implement a reward system for people who are related.

People are still getting confused about the sister thing, so I'll bump this post.

I think we can assume that something like this would also be added.

so would it be “siblingly” instead of brotherly?
