Banning "love / favorite detectors"
Also, I've seen some projects that make you love and/or favourite before even letting you play the game.

Support, isn't this why the idea for digital currency was banned in the first place?

Banning "love / favorite detectors"
I didn't think of that but yes i give support because of these reasons. If you don't know what these are, they're basically meant to detect when you press the love or favorite button. On the surface it seems harmless.
But then you realize users are exploiting this.
You see, a decent amount of the projects on trending right now (or atleast under #games) have this same detector- and how do they use it? They put a giant slab of text on the screen saying something along the lines of “love/favorite for 10 free coins!!!” and that WON'T go away until you love/favorite. See the problem now? It's, in a way, manipulating users so that the project can get on trending (which I'm pretty sure is a violation of section 3.3.5 of the terms of use, correct me if I'm wrong)
Obviously, it would be impossible to automatically detect one of these things, but I think they should be reportable/banned.
Loves/favorites should be earned, not obtained.
(And if they already ARE banned, then sorry that I didn't see it)

I only think love/fave detectors should be banned if they are bribing you (like if there was a big banner at the top saying “LOVE AND FAVE FOR AN EXCLUSIVE SKIN!!”) to love and fave. If they are just used to thank the user, or even give the user a small thanks reward (that is not mentioned anywhere in the project so it doesn't count as a bribe), then it should be fine.

I agree. Love/favorite detectors are only harmful when users force others to love/favorite projects to play/get rewards. Semi-Support
I mean, if it only said “Thank you so much for loving and faving!” then it shouldn't
BUT,
If it kept popping up stuff and/or gave you things for doing it then, yes, this should NOT be allowed as it is cheating the loves/faves system.

Banning "love / favorite detectors"
This unintentional “feature” can be used to do good (e.g. to say thank you). If a project overuses it, don't hesitate to report it.

Banning "love / favorite detectors"
I think that if someone is abusing it, then they should be reportable. But if someone is using it to send a message to the heart and star giver like “thanks!” or something, them I think that that should be ok.

Banning "love / favorite detectors"
I agree that they are not welcome in projects - it does seem like they are trying to “buy” social actions. Social actions should always be freely given - not coerced.
That being said - I'm not sure how easy it would be for our moderators to verify that the feature is being abused. I wonder if there isn't a technical fix that could be applied. Why is Scratch detecting mouse position outside of the boundaries of the Scratch screen in the first place? What if we were able to make it so that it didn't?
I’m pretty sure people use some Python extensions or something

(#134)We're not talking about that - we're talking about banning them (if theyre like begging like LIKE AND FAV FOR 21390913819283 COINS!! or it just pops up loads.)

Banning "love / favorite detectors"
The love/favorite detection method shouldn't be banned entirely (i.e. it's only used to thank the user, thus following the TOU), but exploitations like “love and favorite for 10 free coins!” like the OP mentioned should be banned

Banning "love / favorite detectors"
I agree that it's easy to just hover over the buttons so the creator couldn't abuse the love/fav detector. However, If it gets abused too much, then yes, I think it could be no longer allowed. I guess the amount of love and favorite detectors and reminders have gone up recently and people feel more than ever like actually loving and favoriting a project, so.New Scratchers wouldn't know this trick causing them to force themselves to love/fav the project.
By the way they're not completely accurate – you can just hover over the love and favorite buttons to activate the detector.

A straight up ban isn’t a good solution. Lots of users create projects with these detector scripts, and they’ve been worked on so hard. A lot of people will be upset if ST taken down projects with these for good uses.
