User Links : Remove /users/ from the link of accounts and replace it with @(username)

Currently the easiest way to visit a user profile is to type

https://scratch-mit-edu.ezproxyberklee.flo.org/users/vs_edge/

in the web bar

My proposal is to change the link to :

https://scratch-mit-edu.ezproxyberklee.flo.org/@vs_edge/

———————-
The old link will redirect to the new link.
———————-

Pros

This would make the link shorter and easier to type.

Cons

1) I have nothing against this change, as other forks already use this function.
But many pages of Scratch Wiki, Forks, others sites redirect to https://scratch-mit-edu.ezproxyberklee.flo.org/users/ URL scheme.
It would be a lot of work and would “break” sites. - given by @Wilhelm43

I object, you don't know the number of pages on wikis and other sites using this URL. No support.

I'd like to mention there's this thing called “userinfo”, this screenshot(I cannot link the source because of the type of video it is…{As in what it mentions}). This still lurks in browsers
{removed}
So this may make it quite abit sophisticated, although I only just remembered this so I probably forgot a crucial detail and this is probably a worthless mention.

Although changing it for all accounts would require some Maintenance mode I believe.

Semi-Support.

EDIT: Also, alot of sites are using /@user . I honestly think it's good as it is.
I mean I use private tab for this account but I've never been annoyed at me never being able to just get an account profile from my search history.
EDIT2: I forgot userinfo needs abit of clarification in the url, forget I talked about it)

And, just, why adding a www ? It's pretty useless nowadays…

That can be changed easily also www is now removed from the OP

Yeah. It will involve maintenance mode.

Even more when you know that, for example, the German wiki has no active contributors since 2020.

Is the old url will redirect to profile pages?

Yes it will with new links so

https://scratch-mit-edu.ezproxyberklee.flo.org/users/vs_edge would redirect to https://scratch-mit-edu.ezproxyberklee.flo.org/@vs_edge

It can be redirected to @user from /user. Like in old project links!

Certain scratchers such as @about and @explore will no longer be able to be linked to ever again, as this update will replace that page with the about page
