Default Icon Ideas!

That would be pretty sweet, but I don't know what ST thinks about mandatory color changing pfps for users.

Support! This would make the default pfps a lot more appealing and attractive, and could also result in new content to be shared for 3.0 soon. But ST might not like this whole idea of changing the 2.0 page pfps though…

Icons are pfp’s. They want more default pfp’s

When you first make a Scratch account, you get this cat. The silhouette of the Scratch Cat. My idea is that when you make an account, you must choose if you want the silhouette of a cat, a nano, a gobo, a giga, a terra, etc. It would put a bit more spice and diversity into Scratch!

Support, it does make it more professional as others said

I would support this, but not support allowing you to upload your own during registration. You can do that really easily just a sec after you register by clicking “Change” on your profile.

Agreed, it also kinda defeats the purpose of the idea with the custom profiles

Icons is not pfp. but pfp can contain icon or image.

there should be a prompt that says ‘'which pfp do you want?’'when you start scratch and there should be no limit to how big a pfp can be

^I think the size limit is necessary. Smaller images take up less storage. Scratch is already pretty image-heavy. Too big of images could put too much into Scratch’s asset storage, slowing down the website, as it needs to load those assets. :’)
Plus, PFP’s would likely appear sized down anyway. So there’s really no point :p
500x500 is actually really big tbh. Other sites and apps usually have less, like 200x200

Forums would be horribly effected too, for the all the reasons I listed already, and forum threads already slow down as they get more and more pages, as there’s so much post data to load

I haven’t studied tech and html since like 7th grade and I’m in 9th now, so take all that with a grain of salt

Are you talking about the dimensions of the image or how much space the image takes up (GB/MB)?

I joined scratch in 2023 I saw the Characteres Pfp there's scratch and nano pico and giga and tera and gobo there look different
