what do you mean enough purple? theres no point if sime o it still blue.

Scratch is not trying to delete all blue things.

They made the site purple because they wanted to make it so that it was more accessible to all people.

Hopefully this helps and makes sense to you

It's a great update really, ST and other Scratch workers were thinking about how they could change their site so more people could use it.

yeah, but they really should have made it so there's an option to revert it back.

also some people find it harder to see than the blue, especially in things like links.

Honestly, I think they should have just used a darker version of the navbar color that was already in 2.0 if they wanted to be accessible, it actually works kinda well:

Purple looks the best in all of these ngl… But they could have used a little brighter of a blue and a black backrground

I assume they wanted the best contrast possible on all of the blocks (Sounds and Looks don't pass WCAG AAA for black text), and have them stay consistent (all categories having the same text color instead of some having black and others white).

This blog post has more details about what feedback they received on the high contrast blocks! In their survey they asked about ability to distinguish between different categories of blocks but that doesn't seem to have improved – I wonder if that's coming soon

(These numbers are out of around 800 respondents)
