As a colorblind person, I can't see links
https://scratch-mit-edu.ezproxyberklee.flo.org/projects/870707228/Does this work better? Link:
Edit: it might not have enough contrast with white though; if it doesn’t I’ll try something else
For me, yes, but orange on orange would not work for other people. The header is fine for me. It's the text

Orange does not contrast with purple very well, at least according to WebAIM Yellow is the opposite of purple, so yes, they are the most contrasting colors, but yellow is hard to see in general, so orange or lime green would be the next best option.
https://webaim.org/resources/contrastchecker/?fcolor=FF5900&bcolor=800080
The colors you put in aren't even the colors Scratch is using /nm
Also I wouldn't trust an overly complicated website. Color theory says that yellow and purple are the most contrasting, red and green, and blue and orange.

The good thing is, most of the links on Scratch 3-styled pages are bold as well, which works like an alternative to distinguishing by color.

It’s against the rules to name extensions , and not everyone can get them

I have normal vision and this doesn’t contrast well and would probably fail on the test how's this as a replacement color scheme?

that's because you're looking at a ~1080p image at a much lower (>700p) resolution
hold on while I check the test
looks like it needs to be a bit brighter
problem is it has to contrast with a dark background and light text on and around it, so the orange would have to be tweaked very carefully

this one meets the criteria better

Wait, you're blind? I never knew that about you
I'm so sorry to hear that, I hope that the Scratch Team can fix this for people like you.

I have normal vision, but I'm very sensitive to brightness. This purple is hurting my eyeshttps://scratch-mit-edu.ezproxyberklee.flo.org/projects/870707228/Does this work better? Link:

This looks great in dark mode, although it might look strange in light mode. What colors did you use for this mockup? (hex codes) how's this as a replacement color scheme?

I recommend using CubeUpload for hosting images, it’s completely free It's hard to explain color to people who can, so I lowered the saturation to try to show you that the purple color is too dark and does not contrast enough with the regular gray text. I can still tell what's a link and what's not after being on here for 8 years, but it's very hard for me to tell because–if taken away the color and set everything to 0 saturation–you can see that both colors have almost exactly the same saturation levels, making it harder for blue-purple colorblind people like me to use Scratch.

(There's literally no other way for me to upload an image without paying, sorry)
Also I didn’t know you were colorblind Mossy!

Ngl it looks pretty cool, kind of gives a Halloween vibe. I’d love that as a color theme option! If there were to be different Scratch themes that you can select through Account Settings, this one could be called “Halloween”. how's this as a replacement color scheme?

Cool idea, the main problem is that you have two different shades of orange (the one from the logo and the one from the messages). Putting two super similar colors next to each other generally isn't a very good idea. Other than that, it's pretty good. It looks very halloweeny (which makes me wonder if seasonal themes would be a good idea, but that's a story for another day).I have normal vision and this doesn’t contrast well and would probably fail on the test

I do like this one a lot. The notification orange will probably have to be a different color or a lighter orange with black text or something. White on orange worries me, but the darker orange works out for that, and the yellow on black for links works very well.
