Hold on, there’s a cloud variable character limit?
Not on variable “names.”

Probably so it couldn’t be abused?

This issue is basically still as big as the character limit of cloud variables, genuinely.
(Why is it that large? Who on earth would have more than 8 characters length of points or whatever? its not like cloud vars are used for that high amount…)

Also probably some clickers.
If I remember right, it has 297-298 characters maximum I think

Note from Paddle2see - In February of 2018, an update was done to Cloud variables that limits the length of them to 128 characters, as well as a few other restrictions. Please see this post for more information. This should not be reported as a bug. Thanks!

So uh yeah it has a character limit.
(EDIT: Anyways I think I'm accidentally steering offtopic so I'll stop talking abt it)

Final thing:
Probably since that issue should be reported on the Contact Us part
it could be used for smth worse abt its limit.

I give a point for that one. I believe they don't want any way to have unmoderated chats on Scratch.

What if this was intentional?

Should I close this? It isn't really a useful bug at all.

Well it can still lead to bad things.
I say we should keep this open. But it's just my opinion, yours matters more since you're the one who can close it.
(though others should be asked too)

This is actually very useful, and I have used it to edit my posts after closing my topics. I don't know why this needs to be removed.

So people don't use it to unmoderated chat or change it to something bad??

While it is possible to change it to something bad, the moderators will probably remove it. Also how are people supposed to use it for unmoderated chat?

Let's say a user posts “yay” on the announcements forum and then the person below catches the person's edit saying “hello chat” and the person below says “hello” quoting to them and it will turn on forever and ever.

This is just an example. It's really rare to use this glitch as an unmoderated chat.
