That and trigger words.but they won't remove the words heck and hell, and some people hate heck and hell, and what if somebody says something like ****. It still goes through on the forums until the ST removes it. So during that limbo time, you have the shot of letting a third grader see the hard r or something. i honestly dont see the use for this, unless you are racist or have some phobia against certain people, there is really no use since both the forums and main site are pretty well moderated anyways

I like this idea, but I don't want to type in the words I don't want to see. Maybe there could be options, like “regular” “on” and “strict” and it could enable one by default depending on your age. I mean come on, we have first-graders on this platform!
The problem with that though is trigger words, they can't make a seperate list for that. Maybe have a friend type in the words for you if this gets implemented.

I wasn't suggesting this would replace the current suggestion, I was just saying that it could be one of the options. I'm starting to lose hope in the way people view certain words. The problem with that though is trigger words, they can't make a seperate list for that. And create the layout appositely for that with DIV and SPAN hell + React stuff, styling with CSS and Javascript and SQL stuff, create a completely new database, a very large one, to store the censored words ( which would just need more money to be spent… ) and then hope that somehow they will still be able to keep up with all the traffic.all you have to do is literally duplicate the normal blacklist then let the user edit it. it really is not that hard.I do not believe that it will harm me, I believe that it is a waste of time to implement. Guys, this is just causing a huge argument. I see no way in which a toggleable feature would harm you.
Why do you think updates take so long?

If you re-read that, it says that it's open to everyone. That still doesn't mean that it was meant for six year olds.Read the guidelines one more time and come back This site's age demographic is not meant for six year olds, if they enter this website they may do so at their own risk with the knowledge that they're not meant to be here.1.3 Scratch is open to children and adults of all ages, and we ask that you keep this in mind when using the Scratch services. When you use Scratch, you agree to abide by the Scratch Community Guidelines.
Go to scratch.mit.edu/about and check the section “Who uses Scratch” and it'll tell you it's meant for users from 8 to 16 years of age, even if it's open to everyone.

There is one thing. If heart was added in the custom blacklist. It may be easy to detect that they said the word that can be upsetting to some people.
Like if someone said “I got a heart by medians!” It would be
“I got a ***** by medians!” They would know that star is 4 letters so they would go with heart and that may upset them.

I don't believe the word “heart” is very triggering for many people, and I doubt it would tell you the length of the word. -snip-

Ah, sorry. That is a good idea, now that I actually understand it.I wasn't suggesting this would replace the current suggestion, I was just saying that it could be one of the options. “Cope with your trauma flashbacks”Cope…(#446)what if it's suddenly mentioned in a place where it isn't often mentioned?Just, avoid places in which the trigger is often mentioned?so what if they do have one, do we just say deal with it?for those confused as to what would be censored, this would be useful for people who are triggered by certain subjects.
they could censor the words that upset them, ex: abuse, murder, death, etcUnless they've got a serious mental illness then they can probably get over it eventually. for those confused as to what would be censored, this would be useful for people who are triggered by certain subjects.

Scratch already doesn't auto-censor sounds, Wait, How about audio files with cuss words that aren't censored?(very hard technology, even for advanced websites,) so I doubt they would for this either.

You’re not supposed to have projects with curse words in it. It might be ok if you mute the words, but for this song it’s about something that isn’t for scratchHere is a project with audio that has cuss words: YMW Melly ******* Remix (feat. Edit: so it’s not about something not for scratch, but he repeats a word that isn’t for scratch, idk if you censored it or not
