Make the default website font Comic Sans

This is eye broker and the OP says: default website font to comic sans which is a bad idea an option will be more acceptable than default font. The scratch website will look unprofessional using a comic font. In my opinion changing the font to Roboto, Inter is better. Scratch isnt a comic site its a coding site. I know its attracting but it doesnt make it better.

Exactly, no one uses a low monitor resolution these days and if you see the site on phone it would look similar to the desktop site even in 32 bit res its still readable (very).

Yeah, I feel like those images make it look a lot more “outdated” and “Scratch 0.x-ish” because Scratch 0.x used Comic Sans.

Support! This would make Scratch font a lot more appealing to the eye, even though it’s childish and unprofessional, it’s still good for the human eye than the default font Aerial.

I used a shortcut on Safari and made it make comic sans ms but it did cursive

Again, this is not Comic Sans, this is cursive. And even if this was the font they are suggesting, this font is just terrible to read.

Most people can understand cursive, wdym by that? Also, Cursive isn’t that hard to read, just learn how to write it.

I know how to write in cursive and how to read it, too. This particular font is just hard to read. Besides, this is for Comic Sans, not cursive.

Here are 2 things to note about this idea:

Comic Sans is an acquired taste, so some may not like it while others may absolutely love it. This is the same with the current Arial font, so it may be difficult for the Scratch Team to come up with a consensus on what font their site should run on. For now, it makes sense to stick with the default because….
As a person who developed a single terrible site professional web developer, I learned* a lot about fonts on browsers and why sites don't have crazy fonts. Basically, when all the tech nerds came together, they decided that most devices/browsers should support 5 seperate “genres” of text, and then it be optional to add other fonts. So, each browser supports different fonts, and many fonts aren't accepted by all devices. This means that picking a non-default font wouldn't work for everybody, and might display weird things when a viewer tries to look at it. So, please do not suggest a random font from google docs, because technology isn't at that level yeet.

PLEASE take this with a grain of salt, and if you have experience developing websites, please tell me if I am wrong cause I don't want to mislead people.

I dont think this would look very good but I do see the appeal, Personally i prefer the default font

I have made, like, 2 sites using Google Sites had experience with this before, so let me answer these:

You are correct. Preference of font depends on the person, and I have yet to hear someone complain about this font (which I am to believe is some sort of Sans, Gill Sans or Open Sans, perhaps?)
I can only assume if that's correct, but given there are literally tens of thousands of fonts, and Google Docs only has 1052 of which, it sounds accurate. Also, having some devices show a different font when non-standard fonts are used seems logical, especially for older browsers/models.

With that said, I'm no professional on this, so I could be completely wrong. I don't know how I'd correctly check this, so keep this statement in mind if you are going to support/attack me.

This font change isn't such a big deal, it's just a fun font, like cmon. Scratch is suppose to be fun, and it's suppose to teach in a kid-friendly manner, not make it a huge complicated coding language.

Font is just a visual looks of a text it doesnt make the website fun. It would be better if they changed it to romans font.
