SWC March 2023 Leader Forum :)
hi everyone! hope you're having a great may <3
i'm just coming on to ask if there were any campers you had last session you think would good leaders for july
you can choose any number of campers but please keep it specific! we are planning to reach out to the nominees, and they will be told you have recommended them, so do keep that in mind

Clementine_Blue
Ataraxea
autokarrect–
Corgi3210
2GS6 (has co-led before)
How exactly is this going to work? Are you going to reach out to them and encourage them to apply or would this act like some sort of letter of recommendation or is it something else completely?

@Galaxy_Awesome
@violent-measures @criminal-intent (I know both of them are applying though)
@TrellD
same questions as everyone lol - is this basically going to be the hosts encouraging these people to apply? ^^

ooh okay I would recommend these people:
@hamilchaos (as led before, here and on other camps, is active and responsible, and I think she's a very reliable leader.)
@poppywriter (I don't know about their experience, but they were in my cabin and were very active and seemed responsible, always did what they said they would, but also had a nice and encouraging energy that was just a very swc leader vibe)
@HydroHype (I believe has lead/colead in other camps before, and I've been in multiple cabins with them. They've applied before and have experience, so I think they would make a good leader)
@–kitti-kat– (has participated before and in other camps, is very active online and in swc, dedicated, seems very reliable. They might have lead/colead in other camps before, but idk, I don't quite remember)
@weirdlyangie (was very active throughout camp and was very helpful to other campers)
@-KenzieCamps- (Was also very active, has hosted/lead/colead other camps before, also very helpful)
I'm sure there's more but these are the people I found ^^

Mouse's thoughts from horror:
-AMETHYSTQUEEN- <– She's led before and she's a fun person (I heard rumors about eating cabins?)
TWILIGHT_A <– She has a LOT of camp experience and despite the fact she doesn't sleep (/j) she'd be an amazing leader. She was also active throughout camp and is excellent at finding things (aka comment stalking lol)
Xeniko <– Also one of our most active campers, an overall very awesome person who has an excellent balance of chaos and calm (depending on the situation)
I too am wondering how this will work

@seasiide (she's led or co-led before, I think it was last session's script? she's active, proactive, and writes a ton (17k))
@YorkiesAreAmazing123 (kind, interactive, great artist (for those who need a pfp maker xD), writes ~10k)
@RoseReef (organized, kind, helpful, active, wrote ~8k. drawback is she'll be in summer camp all july)
that's what i have from fan-fi.

@-AMETHYSTQUEEN- (she has co-led before, I think? or was an honorary? not sure, but she's really awesome, nice, and would be a great choice for fan-fi as she loves fan-fi, but would definitely be an amazing choice for any cabin)
@CherryMango17 (I think March 2023 was her first session but she was so active and fun and participated in everything)
@WeirdlyAngie (super fun, nice, chaotic but in a good way and not too chaotic, and will always listen to you if you need someone to talk to)
@Xeniko (chaotic yet calm as Mouse said, nice, has been in SWC 8(?) times, all as a camper, active yet also not active but active enough)

hi! honestly i think that hosts reaching out to campers, even if their leaders think that they'd be good candidates, seems like it would put a lot of pressure on people to apply. i see the reasoning behind it–it can be a bit hard to make the decision to apply for the first time (and with the megasession thing we definitely need more leaders)–but it kind of seems like getting a message from a host would be a lot of pressure. if people are thinking about applying but feeling a bit unsure, they'll probably check out alba's project and get some encouragement there; but if they're not, then it's likely for a reason. it seems like people shouldn't apply if a) they don't think it's the right choice for them at this time or b) they just don't have enough time, but it seems like this would make them feel more like they should apply even if one or both of these factors were part of their initial decision.
however, i do think that it would be better to do this than not have enough leaders, and, with that in mind, here are a couple of thriller's most active campers:
aIoe-there (first time camping was last session, likely would want to wait a bit)
-KenzieCamps- (really active and motivational, did a lot of the activities!)
lizard-breath (very fun to talk to, pretty much carried us through the later puzzles/games xD)
Bxlla_Cxmps (pretty active last session and has a LOT of leading experience in non-swc camps! might be too busy though)

i realize the hosts are discussing, but a thought – what if (co-)leaders reached out to their former campers and encouraged them to apply? i've done this before with a few campers of mine, and while they can better speak to that experience than i can, i think it's a nice way to give campers a bit if encouragement and confidence without putting any much pressure on them :>

oooo i like this idea — it would definitely be less intimidating coming from someone you’ve interacted with before than from a host :0 i realize the hosts are discussing, but a thought – what if (co-)leaders reached out to their former campers and encouraged them to apply? i've done this before with a few campers of mine, and they can better speak to that experience than i can, but i think it's a nice way to give campers a bit if encouragement and confidence without putting any much pressure on them :>

@autokarrect–, was just a blast to have. They were very active and thoughtful too.
@iqona, she's very mature and active. Very nice too!
@2GS6 slightly less active but still active, she is super kind and I am pretty sure she has co-led before too (dystopian perhaps, I'll check later)
@Clementine_Blue, creative and kind. Polite and very active and fun to bond with
@Ataraxea, active, kind, fun, focused, and I think they are a sac (co)leader
edit: gen did co-led Dystopian last July ^^
