Limit the number of topics a user can make in one day to five.
Why would they need to make more than five if they're not spamming?

The sixteen seconds rule already exists, so… it's not really “spamming”.

support for the april fools day forum, most of the topics are just unfunny spam and if people had to think about how many topics they were making maybe they’d actually be quality. I don’t think it’s necessary for other forums, but if it’s easier to implement it for all of them, sure.

I also support for the AFD forum. Most of the forum has devolved into a mess, and there's even a support for the april fools day forumsticky to tell people to make better topics. Limiting topic creation to 5 topics per day will make discussion much cleaner and people won't be bumping their own topics every 2 minutes.
The ST should also do this in the future, if they intend on bringing the AFD forum back.

Support, but only for Suggestions and AFD, because it would make people actually think about what they post, and Suggestions and AFD are the forums with the most amount of people not thinking what they post. Rest of the forums is mainly for help, so they should be like they are.

The April Fools’ Day forum had 31 pages of topics, which is over double the amount of topics as Announcements (15), and April Fools’ Day was open for two days while Announcements was open since 2.0. support for the april fools day forum, most of the topics are just unfunny spam and if people had to think about how many topics they were making maybe they’d actually be quality. Then what if they finished all of there topics because they didn't know if it was a dup or a rejected suggestion and just came here? I feel this would be most beneficial for the following forums:
And could just be there because of lack of discussion and not a major endeavor for newer Scratchers:
I literally don't see a reason why you'd have to create five topics a day for any of these. I can see this being a viable way to combat spam and stuff.
- Show and Tell
Requests
Project Save & Load Codes
AFD

- Advanced Topics
Connecting to the Physical World
Developing Scratch Extensions
Open Source Projects

I average making 0 topics a day. This should not be on EVERY forum, of course. Even though some people will hate this kirby hammer ability smash this, because they just can't stop make suggestions.

now that I think about it semi support, because often times people make lists of things and normally you one separate topics for each item, so I think that this would “encourage” lists but it would also reduce spam.

This would also encourage necroposting. Afterall, what do you do if you've used up all your topics and still have a question? The most reasonable thing is obviously to bump up an old thread so people tell you to not necropost while possibly answering your question!
Would also cause more thread hijacking, what do you do except for necroposting? Just go hijack a thread, someone might get confused and answer your question anyways!

Yeah, one day I had 2 questions to ask, and today alone I’ve made 2 topics so far. That’s bound to go up, so what would I do then? This would also encourage necroposting. You could just like squash them all into one topic Person who has 6 questions:
No one will kill you for that
But tbh this need to be only effected on a few certain forums. I don’t think it should be implemented in Suggestions, since, well, a person has 6 ideas that are totally different. They would have to list it or wait another day and who knows about timezones
I don’t think Help With Scripts really need this, people could have 7 problems with their code that happened in different times of the day.
I think only that 2 doesn’t need this or maybe it’s just my limited knowledge on what does subforums do
I never knew the AFD forum soon… soon enough… but according to what you guys said, yea it should have a limit.
