Ban it’s my birthday projects

The date would tell people what their birthday date is and then it would invade their privacy! Please ban it! It is against community guidelines I think and maybe the TOS. Start banning it and taking down those projects.

birthdays aren't like someone's location what are you on

Sounds like people are sharing this information intentionally, disqualifying it as an “invasion of privacy”. There's nothing about them that breaks the community guidelines(although if you had already shared your age on your profile or something then it may break it slightly).

If you feel that they break the guidelines, report them. If they're actually bad, the ST will take them down.

I’m tempted to share my birthday, but I’ve already shared my age. But, my birthdays in June. Now, will a kidnapper finally listen to what I say or admit that there’s nowhere near enough information given the vast majority of the time to find someone?

No support.i let people know it’s my birthday on my birthday and if people are doing projects for it it’s willingly.
Your allowed to tell people your age or birthday, but ST so far hasn’t enforced only one or the other I don’t think.

Not so much your location as your birth date - which is another key piece of information that is used to identify you to some organizations. So it can be useful for identity theft. Is this a problem for kids? Maybe not right now - but later in life it might be a problem to them. They should definitely be talking it over with their parents before making their birth date public knowledge.

Birthdays can't let others know your exact location, it's like sharing your first name because your first name isn't sharing anything very private or that could track your location, no support

These projects should be fine if they don't tell your age. I mean saying what day and month you were born isn't that bad, saying what year may be bad though.

I support, it gives personal info, every little bit is dangerous to give away, “oh, birthdate isn’t much”, well then it’s, “oh country isn’t bad”, and piece by piece, bad people get enough info to actually be a threat.

Actually, many people can share a birthday, so you can't really get a real home address from a simple month and day.

Also, there is many people who share birthdays so it wouldn't give away much.

Most people don't include their birthyear

Yes, but remember that many, many other people share the exact same birthday as YOU, meaning that it's super hard and super unlikely that anybody can doxx you just from your birthday alone.

I don't think a kid would put their state/province location, let alone their exact location.
