Rethink a part of the Scratch teams mentality
No support.
This is like suggesting to have the option to make people think something.

Can you please explain your comparison? Make sure you have read the OP because this is a suggestion for the ST to change how they accept and reject new features. This is like suggesting to have the option to make people think something.

Rethink a part of the Scratch teams mentality
Full support. The base version of Scratch has always been irritating, with suggestions never being added and bugs never being fixed. It's ridiculous how a couple of Scratchers made a browser extension that fixes all of these issues. It has made programming, designing sprites and navigating the website so much easier, and it has lots of customisability. The Scratch Team says they don't have much time and they have to prioritise other things, while these guys can code features in a few weeks. Even worse, the ST blocks people from talking about the extension and forces people to use the base version. The ST should get their priorities right, and take inspiration from the extension.

I Don’t get why they have so many issues or things that could be better, and they’re fixed by extensions (or like another explore page) and they hate people talking about it???
Yeah it can hack you but at least the most popular and helpful one?I spent 2 weeks trying to find it and finally found it by someone saying it.

It's the title for me. But anyway, support because the Scratch Team doesn't make much sense sometimes.

easy workaround:Support! We should remove the addition block because it has such anset [a v] to [1]My point is that the Scratch Team shouldn't think the opposite of the truth.
set [b v] to [1]
set [answer v] to (a)
repeat (b) // basically 1+b = answer. Does not work with decimals and negative numbers but you get the idea
change [answer v] by (1)
end
Tangent time!
This is probably my biggest problem with suggestions. Every new block that would simplify an overcomplicated figure gets overrun with comments going “no support becauz workaraound:”
(insert random block of code that uses at least one too many variables for what should be a simple feature)

Why though? I think it's just selfish to pin unsatisfaction on the fact that the ST has limited resources, a very clear picture of what Scratch should be, (source) and overall more experience than us. They're honestly trying their best. Some people say that this is just them “avoiding updates” but that's complete nonsense. They have reasons, and I hope they give them straight to you.

Translation: Either they don't make sense, or you have studying to do. It's the title for me. But anyway, support because the Scratch Team doesn't make much sense sometimes.

It is their job to improve the website, but the more important job is always to maintain the website, afterall, whats the point in improving the website if noone can use it properly?very clear picture of what Scratch should be, (source) and overall more experience than us. It makes sense you want them to add more updates, however, it would be like if your family was barely surviving on small bread rations during the siege of stalingrad, and then you demanded your parents for cake and got angry at them when people told you they literally dont have the ability to do that if they want to survive.

I don't know. I don't get this suggestion and I even read it twice and still don't understand.

I really do wish Scratch was open to more contributions from other than Scratch engineers since most who want to contribute are actually willing to write new features and tests for them as needed.
They ask to suggest new hypothetical features in the Suggestions forum, as if people can't learn about the editor and write a working feature. In addition, it clearly doesn't work for needed things like an exponentiation block

Many issues (like no dark mode) are basic things that should be in vanilla Scratch. I shouldn't have to get an extension for this.
Also, try telling this to a kid who uses Scratch on their school computer and their school blocks browser extensions.
