Logging off is a better idea if you still wanna see whats going on if you wanna use the editor then you can use the offline editor but it's still not a perfect idea.
(yes i just realized that)

Could you guys please stop saying “No support reasons above/same reasons”, “^”, or just quoting someone else's reason, that would be just a unnecessary spam, and this isn't a ballot box. And closing comments won't do anything with projects notifications and forums messages, what if you want to check messages before disabling comments? - Then, you'll have to scroll for an hours to see your older messges, especially if you have a big amount of followers, or don't want to see the message counter anyways.
Agree 100%.

Just because there is a “workaround” does not mean that the feature is undesirable.

Please focus more on trying to improve the suggestions rather than knocking them down.

GoGuardian can see what you download and since i'd technically no longer be on the scratch website it would also scan it every once in a while causing it to lag

Do not disturb lets people Close their comments (optional but if off you will get a summary with the comments off) with a message saying
The profile owner of this project turned on do not disturb. Try again later.
, It will not show the message count, give less distractions and more! So people can focus on what THEY ARE DOING! It would also say on profile (next to Scratcher or new scratcher or scratch team) Marked As Do Not Disturb.

They will get a summary of what messages and what happened during that time.

You can also set it to go for limited time! There would be presets as well and you can type the minutes, hours, seconds.
I support this post, sure, it is kind of moot for most people on this site, but it could be useful for helping users focus on their projects or coding, without constantly leaving to go reply to some comment, then going back into editor and then wondering “Wait, what was I doing?” The summary would also help organize everything into what they missed or ignored during their “Do not disturb” period.

The idea of the timer is also ideal too, because some people have over hundreds of small projects, and the timer could instantly unlock all project/profile comments at once, without the user having to individually go through each and every one of those projects. It would generally make life a little easier by making these tasks less time consuming. (Also helpful for ADHD and other disorders of the like)

Do I really have to do this? - Doesn't Scratch trying to get more people rather than making them leave? - Suggestions are supposed to make improvements that helps everyone, and avoid getting negative feed-backs and issues, just like how a seller tries to sell better products for his customers.

I *tried* to say some people are not able to use the offline editor because their school/administrator doesnt allow it. Not very “Scratch is for everyone” is it?

I shouldn't need to download the offline editor to enjoy the website.

This suggestion would be extremely helpful with people like me who have ADHD and can't really resist clicking the message couner

Why do we need a new way to turn off comments?
And there's no need to stop getting notifications, it's not like you get a notification on your computer when you get a notification.

This could stop all notifications, not just messages, which means that turning comments wouldn't fix the problem.
