Prevent an email attached to an account from creating new accounts.
This is to reduce and/or prevent ban evasion.
This is usually what happens:

No support, the report button is incredibly versatile and a ban or two can discourage a user from doing it again

If the account was banned because of an inappropriate username, you're allowed to create a new one.

No support. People evading bans can always create another email. This would hardly reduce ban evasion

This might be more effective if account creations on the same IP address were also blocked.

Most children don't know how to create new emails. The only way they would be able to evade bans with this is by already having an alt before said ban. No support. People evading bans can always create another email. This would hardly reduce ban evasion

I use my email but also have a school gmail and a semi-personal gmailMost children don't know how to create new emails. Kids could do that
And I’m sure kids would find out or use someone else gmail/email they posted somewhere

That would probably apply to kids younger than 9. Not such a foolproof system. Also Temp Mail

What if an entire school network gets IP banned because of that one guy? Plus, if you know a bit about networks, a kid could just reset their router and bam, new public IP.

I doubt kids would know how to change their IP or make a new email. All of you are assuming worst case. This is designed to reduce, and any extra action can be dealt with by the mods

Suggestion immediately became irrelevant. I think the mods are fine managing it the way it is right now; if they weren't something like this would already exist. any extra action can be dealt with by the mods

My brother and I are under the same email. If one of us gets banned, that won’t be good. My brother has forgotten his password two or three times, and has to keep making new accounts. If he forgets again, then he won’t be able to use Scratch. That would be highly unfair.

ge anything lol
ok what if this happens becaude this already happens. if you have a sibling or classmate, and they do something stupid, and they share the same IP/email address as you, then what happens? You get falsely banned, so who really is feeling the pain? Not just them, you too.

IMO You are assuming that kids are so stupid that they don't know how to create a new email. After online schooling, email should be common knowledge! All you literally have to do is search “create a new gmail account”. This wouldn't reduce ban evasion as much as you think.

i'll admit: you're right.

you should know that gen alpha and gen z literally masted the internet; you can't stop them since they know so much. i mean, gen z is pretty stupid (no offense) but they are really good in the tech field, same with gen alpha. most of scratch is these generations.

Alright, can we please stop arguing about whether a child is capable of creating a new email account or not? We're getting too off-topic.
Yes, it is important to note that they might be able to. But this suggestion isn't really designed to prevent 100% of ban evasion, just reduce and/or discourage it.

this is ontopic buddy, you're proposing something that is related to email accounts and IP addresses (using this info). we all know kids are capable of messing with it.
and this really won't make a difference at all since they can figure out.

alright then how about we remove the chat filter since people can figure out a way to work around the filter to share private info. It won't really make a difference. and this really won't make a difference at all since they can figure out.
